I thought there was a changling that made all creatures have all creature types, but looking it up on gatherer apparently it doesn't exist. Though I'm not crazy, I even have the art for the card in my head, and I still don't see it. M...maybe I am crazy....

Mirror Entity maybe?
no wait that one just made everything have the same power/toughness I think
then there's Amoeboid Changeling but that's a targeted creature type changer like Imagecrafter
edit: Mirror Entity apparently does actually grant all types but only affects your creatures, not theirs
This creature was part of the Premium Deck Series: Slivers that also had a Sliver Overlord. I have that deck and it's a decent combo if you can pull it off.
Also I find it strange I never ran across a Geist of Saint Traft in tournaments in the past few months.

if they took away banding then what mechanic would we have to point at and say "why"
Bands with Others is still pretty much the most confusing thing I've seen in all of Magic, and I vaguely remember a couple cards that only had abilities made to take away Bands with Others

You have as shitton of auras, so want shit to enchant it with. But you got very little evasion and not many quick creatures. And Gift of Orzhova can't go on 8 of your own creatures.
So you've got a slow moving, shambling group instead of focusing on a fast paced rock-em sock-em attack.

the idea is to stick a bunch of auras on a cackler or stromkirk, attacking with exalted and having the Knights serve as blockers/back up. Flailer gives me another option to do damage to them and puts a threat on the board they have to deal with in addition to a big fat noble/cackler.
and i can put one Ethereal armor on it and get way more damage soooo.
also if you have any suggestions as to what you would do instead I'd love to hear it, i really want to develop this concept.

It is because I have been running around with this comically oversized pair of scissors and cutting all of them in half.
this was of course before they apparently reworked bands with others to actually make sense to an extent (at the time, the third answer was correct)
still unsure as to when that happened
