as applicants. I only know who Mith is because I assume they use the same handle on PA.
The reason why I don't blindly allow people in is because we only have 17 spots and I have no idea what guild members can blow up if they're evil-minded.
I'll go through applicant list when I go home for lunch, hopefully I'll catch a few of you then, in roughly 2 hours.
Also if you are currently fighting with a weapon, I can make you one that would be slightly better, also if we have any craftsmen I really need a pile of hasps to make blades.
I can make some weapons though if I have the raw materials

I think this evening after work I will change my trade skill to something else more useful to the collective. Not sure what yet.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
Got my invite accepted woo. Thanks. Now Im going to take a break for a bit and read up on the crafting stuff. Anyone got a link where I can find more info?
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Can one remain a member of the Beggars and have a different crafting skill than begging?
the tradeskills break down really weird:
you can have all gathering professions and should.
you choose between begging or divination,
and you can have 1 of the following:
craftsmen
cook
tailor
poison maker
blacksmith
herbalist
Eh, it's always hard to keep up with spammers, so I always take that kind of stuff with a grain of salt. Though some clever way to integrate it into PVP would be hilarious.
I just removed myself from the local and anonymous gossip chat channels and no more problem. You hit that little gear near the top left of the chat window and you can select what channels to see.

enable mercy killing mode for anyone who has 0 of 100 nutrition since all of those goldspammers stand there 24/7 they most definitely are starving
@The_Spaniard is the amount of grieving going on any concern with Snail? I'm not talking about killing others, because there's plenty of control mechanisms in place to counter that. I'm talking about asshats like a guy who kept on running into a team practise session just as they were about to start, did 1 AoE attack to disrupt it (the whole thing is cancelled) and then lets himself be killed. He kept on doing this for a whole day and there was no way for anyone else to deter him from continuing to do this. I've been told that other people also had their fair share of jerks fucking them over with various other activities.

Patch incoming that will make it so that people cannot attack folks in TP.
No exact ETA yet though.

Welp, just booted this up to try it out and found out there's no option to invert the mouse controls. That's unfortunate.
Hah, you are not the first to comment on that.
Also, for anyone wanting to join the guild, you do need to be the next rank up from a nobody, but that doesn't really take long at all.
The videos on the Greenlight page made me want to give this a try, but no mouse invert is a big turn-off. My brain gets all flip-floppy when I try and play with it disabled. I'm going to see if I can figure out a way to enable that via my mouse drivers and give this a shot.
Let us know if you figure something out.
I just ran into the same thing. No inverted mouse is kind of a dealbreaker for me.
The best I've been able to come up with is this driver that I found. But I'm not going to install some random driver off the internet. I'm going to download the game and give it a look-see, but here's hoping someone can convince the dev team that no mouse inversion is a pretty severe oversight.
Just ran Twilight Village for the first time on my Shaolin character, which is the instance that drops flying skills, and I came up 2 short on a roll for a wallclimbing skill. Also the instance itself is fairly difficult, and I recommend bringing two emei if we ever run it as a guild, or at the least one good tank and one good emei. (emei being the healing class in this game)
I got a nice recipe and a nice songsheet from it, both pretty high level compared to what normally drops. The instance itself takes a good while too.
I think we need to try to get some guildies together to start running some of these thing. I had tried Chen's castle earlier (part of my story quest line thing). We tried it first w/ 3 scholars, then with 6 scholars (just people thrown together who were sitting outside the instance) and we were slaughtered both times. I'm thinking it might be easier with a range of different people.
Anywho, I think it'd be fun to try and do something like that. Not just to help folks with their story missions (if they need it), but to start getting all us newbies some new skill books (I really would like to try out some of those flying skills).
if its the one i'm thinking about (you also got some quest with something to do with arrays and forming a team right?) then I think it's soloable or at least it was for me. When I did it I had this npc that i was following around that was doing obscene amounts of damage and pretty much clearing the instance for me while i was on the sidelines doing stuff.
Yah... that's the instance. The guy you go with just destroys all the npcs at the beginning (the trash, as it were), but the last boss kills him (or your friend despawns or dies or something) and then proceeded to one-shot most of the rest of us. There were a few attempts where we survived a few of his attacks (still have no clue what he was doing that hurt so bad), but we also did very, very little damage to him (or rather, our damage was normal for our level, but I got the impression his health pool was huge). I could be missing something, though.
Well, I'll try it again (never tried it solo... the quest said to get a group).
But, that doesn't change the fact that we need to have folks starting to get get together and doing things! Seems like since we're all in different schools we don't see each other at all and just talk/complain/ask questions in guild chat.
I was running with evidar earlier, we had a hard time doing any of those instances with just us 2. not enough dps. no one else was online/wanted to join us.
I only know who Mith is because I assume they use the same handle on PA.
Ah yeah, I should've said.
For the Salt Pan or whatever challenge: when you run the quest the NPC basically kills it, but you don't get his help if you're not specifically on the quest. I went back shortly after and don't think it's easily soloable.

I was able to do the Tea Farm ones with a group of 3 randoms (so 4 total) after you left pretty easily. I have a sneaking suspicion that the random boss it chooses vary in difficulty though.
Edit: We definatly need to do some twlight village. I think I'm a tank, the wudang internal skill boosts defences and gives me an absorb sheild, as well as regenerating energy on parry. Don't seem to have anyway of generating aggro though.
I've been told the loot you get depends on the reputation level of the one who opens the chests. Does anyone know if that's true and whether it's worth running instances until you're at a super high rep?

I ran one of those challenges with a buddy of mine in Chengdu.
It took us three tries, then we realized "Oh shit, that's right! We gotta rest in between every couple of fights." :P That and watching out for the Boss's AoE.
Also, remember that mobility is key! Actually moving around and jumping can help save your life. Just think about all those Chinese martial-arts movies and how people are always flying through the air, then act accordingly in Wushu.
And yeah Twilight Village is like the first real "dungeon" I guess. I'd love to get some Wangmen together for it, though I've no idea what "rank" you need to be.
In other news, I picked up Craftsmen as my tradeskill. So if any fellow Wangmen need various parts let me know and I'll see what I can do (Hasps and Handles ATM).
In regards to building a Guild Fort I am a bit confused. From what I've read it sounds like it can work one of two ways:
1) We can't have a fort unless we have territory, but we can still "build" it in case we ever do get territory.
or
2) We can totally build a fort and receive the bonuses from it, but we cannot physically visit it unless we have territory.
I'm not clear on which it is.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
hmm that's pretty strange, mine pretty much killed him by himself and I just stood back and watched most of the time
I tried this 3 times last night (for some reason I'm still not elegible for guilds like sonelon).
I have absolutely no idea what is going on with group stuff; it seemed very haphazard to me.
The escort NPC did all the work 2 of the times. On the 3rd, he simply disappeared entirely. The boss is ridiculous, by the time I see the fire aoe attack, I was already dead. And then the rez timer is literally a second; does this increase? Someone kept saying to heal, but all my potions or whatever heal at a rate of 20 per sec. Probably just a case of not being prepared with user created stuff, but boy does this game go out of its way to not tell you anything.
Oh there's also a chest when the boss dies, and apparently anyone can loot and take any non-equipment stuff.
I also find PVP to be odd. I have been attacked now, by only max level guys who kill me in about 2-3 hits. I don't even know what's going on before I'm dead. I assume this gets better as I level? One of them I brought upon myself, I was doing that patrolling quest at my school and saw another patrolling player attacking someone who had that revealed spy icon over his head. As he was a max level, I tried to help; he of course slaughtered both of us. And oddly he seemed very put off about the whole thing; he went off about "minding my own @#$^%$# business next time" which I thought was hilarious.
One thing I learned the hard way about patrolling: if you see a possible spy at a high level, spot him and just let others take care of it later (if at all) and you'll get the points as if you did it yourself for XP and the herbs the patrol gives you as a reward.
I think I've tried taking people above one with nature level on with 3 fellow patrols, and we all got smashed. One with nature is now my cutoff with who I will search.
I can't even catch up to the high level spies; the times I've seen them have been when they have been murdering patrolers. All those flying skills let them get farther than me.
One amusing thing I've noticed (or wish would change) is the inability to say words like 'horse' and 'horrible'. I guess hor is a bad word. At least give the option to disable the profanity filter.
Also, does anyone know what we do with these Jet Li coins that I keep finding in treasure chests?

@The_Spaniard yea, please stop "hor" from triggering the profanity filter, in case you needed profane words that aren't on the list yet, just interrupt someone's TP and keep pen and paper ready.

Jet Li coins appear to be part of an event that hasn't been released yet. They drop from treasure chests which are everywhere, so I'd love to sell them at some point for some hard cash.
also just to ask - has anyone done any other training in their school's weapons? I am level 16 in my school's skill and I still see nothing to get a new set of skills for a different weapon
The profanity filter should be optional. It's just a pain in the ass to deal with in just about every game that has one because of false hits, and asshats will figure out a way around it, anyways.
Hell, include a simple method of adding words to the list for players that are especially concerned with language. I don't know why that's not a thing already, anyways.
Just a heads up, I guess gamestop is doing a good deal for a $20 package of stuff as a retail box for this game. Problem is that if you already have an account, it is unusable, from what people have been saying. Not sure if it is a bug or not.
So foodstuffs, is there any kinda of guild bank where we can stockpile buns or something because this hunger DoT is driving me mad
Unfortunately there isn't. Do give a shoutout in the thread if you need food.
What I did is making a lot of crafting mats for cooks (hunting boars for smashed meat and pig blood, farming for wheat) and I've been trading that with the cooks in the guild for food. I'm afraid my dough is still with a guild member whose name I've forgot, but it's a nice way to get fed.

assuming I don't get to go on until tomorrow, that'd be a good 13 or so hours of time wasted.
which is like 2/3 of a level for me

Evidar
