Can someone remind me why /. is worth reading? The amount of stupid from ostensibly smart people is overpowering.

Well, I mainly read it to laugh at the idiot geeks. There's a reason the one question I'd ask RMS is "have you ever worried where your next meal was coming from?", after all.
