Last night I did the following:

    thinnish-slice a Honeycrisp apple
toss in butter and espresso balsamic vinegar and a bit of salt, saute until the edges are browning, set aside.
In the pan, add olive oil and a bunch of chicken breasts (or strips, which is what I did)

add more salt, black pepper. Brown them on medium.

flip, reduce heat to medium. Add another dash of the espresso balsamic

add a bunch of diced green onions

as they are wilting, add the apples back to the pan and toss everything.

Serve with grated gruyere cheese over the top and a Caesar salad

    it was SO GOOD.

This meal was brought to me while I lounged on the couch, surrounded by cushions, and covered in a wonderfully soft blanket...

I am the world's most spoiled woman *happy little sigh*

for instance sometimes i can get crazy cheap boneless skinless chicken thighs (like well under 2 bucks a pound)

and they're water added which is a little bit of a rip but the only non-water added version we sell is like the free range hormonal free etc etc

and the base price is so much higher that the weight differential is shit on multiple times

yeah, it's not that much per lb. something like less than 5%.

though i love when chicken is advertised as hormone free. all chicken has to be according to the FDA, i'm p sure.

I've always meant to see what the cost of boneless vs bone-in meats is at my local supermarket. Boneless is of course more expensive per pound but once you factor out the weight of the bone how does it stack up. Like, I would usually go bone in for roasts if it's actually any cheaper per lb of meat since the bones are usually huge and trivial to remove and it's better overall but deboning chicken breasts is a pain the ass and if the price is comparable boneless forever.

To be fair my beef with uber is that taxi drivers generally are basically all crooks

So the idea of them operating without even the bare minimum of oversight that a controller carries out makes me want to have a screaming fit

At publix, as long as bone-in breasts aren't on sale with boneless at full price, it's almost always worth it to go boneless.

In other news, tonight is cavolo nero pesto

I am tempted to chuck some leftover stuff like some chicken and mushrooms that we have in there but I don't know if that's a good idea

Alternatively I could use the leftovers to make pakora

They're fine, but depending on the time, street it can be a bitch and a half to get one.

The correct way to hail a cab is to walk against traffic, ignoring all other people with your hailing arm out

Standing in one place is for the weak and those who do not deserve a cab

Or shoot NATO standard ammo if it's one of the pre-H&K redesign. And it will do single shot just fine. Wack it on the barrel and sometimes it will let out a random shot.

There's a few of them about

I know there are at least a couple of companies that sell off the shelf "solutions" to do so, since it's not an intrinsically difficult thing to implement for existing private hire dispatch software
