The cost issue goes away eventually (I just got to cost 300 :P). She has pretty balanced stats for an attacker, she has a really really powerful active ability, and her leader skill will be really fantastic once there are enough red+blue critters to fill it. Unconditional +3ATK, +1.35 HP, +1.35 RCV is really great, and on top of that she gets a small ATK boost if your HP is full. Her first awakening is also a Two Prong Attack, which is just sweet sweet gravy.
It will take quite awhile to develop her as a leader, but if you ever do, she'll do some heavy lifting for you.

I've got 100 guys I need to save to use at some point, 5-10 guys I can cobble together into a team, and another few spaces open for drops. I'm in a really boring loop of grinding the same two missions over and over to level up the few usable monsters I have. Then trying to beat a new dungeon and failing, using up half my stamina.

You didn't really have any strong permanent multiplier leaders right? I think you had 3x healer? Now you have 3-3.3x red. Make a red team and incinerate everything
Like, inc's advice is right for a generalized pad player, but for you specifically she just kicks ass and will probably let you resume progress immediately

I keep meaning to actually play the game and expand my team size and everything but really what I end up doing is logging on to collect pal points and magic stones when they give them out. Then I roll on godfests.
Urd is great for right now since you don't even really need red/blue subs aside from her and a friend Urd until way later. 3x unconditional is pretty good.
The quest for Liu Bei:
It's not a godfest unless I roll Godin. First 4 rolls were my freebies.

I've gotten a bunch of stuff from PAL machine and some 5-6* gods/heroes/etc
On one account I have Lucifer 6* Darkness/Light, Hattori Hanzo 5*, Light Wizard Rei Sirius 5*, Aggdrall 5*, and I just pulled a Blue Sonia and Kali from today's Godfest
on the other I have Hatsume 6*, Sun Quan 5*, and Red Odin 6*, and I just pulled Belial 5*
I feel like this game is casting pearls before swine

Find an Athena or Christmas hera friend and go nuts with red Odin or another blue sonia with blue sonia and a buncha golems

Generally, the better the critter, the harder it is to build a team for it. :P The game has a few humps in it that can be a bit frustrating, but it smooths out as you progress. Really one of the big things is to not get distracted by new stuff you get. You need to kind of focus fire on building a solid team instead of having fifty level 20 monsters, so you can more easily build up your power base in the long run.
I had a similar hump when I was going from Expert dungeons to Master dungeons, and it was driving me absolutely nuts. But then I broke through and it was like running through a field of flowers on a sunny day singing that the hills are alive with the sound of orb match.

I'm hitting Day 600 tomorrow, so I tried another pull, and got Snow White, who I wanted awhile back because whoo bind proof. I'll probably need her eventually for Dark Knight. I currently have B/R Siegfried and Aquaman, and another Siegfried slated to become B/L in the future. Really hope I don't have to use ogres, golems, or Keroppi to get a full Blue physical team though.
