Yeah. Like, Revan's mask is something he took from a Mandalorian anyway, and the Mandalorian "culture" is all based on Boba Fett, and Boba Fett's visor was a reasonably common design of medieval helm visor...so the new bad guy's mask having a similar appearance doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I wouldn't be surprised if Abrams or someone in production just typed "Sith" into google image search or something for inspiration, saw a bunch of pictures of Revan pop up and it went from there.

Don't be too sure, JJ used to sneak all kinds of little Star Wars references into Fringe.

JJ Abrams is an admitted gamer, he went into length about it at the talk with Gabe Newell. The Revan mask isn't a coincidence.

Even if it isnt, it is likely nothing more than Abrams digging Revan's mask and using it for his new Sith as opposed to Disney/Lucasfilm actually tying the new stuff to KotoR

I agree, I think it's probably just a superficial nod to KotoR fans and nothing more.

    Here's a question.

If the clone army is just a bunch of Jango Fett clones, and Boba Fett is the most badass, respected bounty hunter ever who has to be specifically told to not disintegrate his target, then why to the stormtroopers all suck massive shit? And why are some clones super, ridiculously badass like the unit in the Clone Wars mini-series where they took out a droid force in the most badass way possible and rescued a bunch of Jedi masters getting their asses handed to them by Grievous using fucking Commando tactics.

I also hate how, despite being the king kong of all badasses in the cartoon miniseries, every other fight he's in he seems to go down like a bitch. He can fuck up four Jedi using acrobatics and even use his feet to grasp lightsabers but he just gets bitchslapped over and over.

Rewatching the Clone Wars CGI Cartoon (not the movie) and it's stated in one episode that because Jango is dead, they're stretching his DNA pretty thin and, as a result, the quality of clones is decreasing. This was during the Clone Wars, so 20 years later during the OT, the stormtroopers must be really going down in quality. That being said, I don't know if Stormtroopers are mass produced or if the Empire started recruiting.

As for Grevious, he was pretty menacing in the Clone Wars CGI Cartoon. You watch him take out several Jedi and named Clone Troopers throughout the series. I know it's in the script but whenever Grevious shows up, everyone gets an "Oh shit" face and they know they're in trouble.

I don't think there is a single moment in the CGI cartoon which conveys the absolute fear and power of Grievous like the Tartosky (spelling) cartoon which made him look like an unstopable force.

I like the theory someone posted that those episodes were written as myth/legend. Like, someone telling these stories at a campfire and invariably end up exaggerating the feats of the Jedi, Clones, and Seperatists.

It makes sense given how everyone is ridiculously overpowered in the cartoon relative to the prequels (ignoring the fact that the prequels are garbage).

    Nope.

    Too badass.

Windu can destroy an army with his hands.

Grievous is a stealthy, tactical bastard who can take on four Jedi masters and two Padawans and kill them all.

Something something boba fett aged naturally, and the badass clones were the oldest and most naturally developed/well trained, while newer clones were pumped full of steroids and growth hormones to get them in the field asap.
also boba fett is just as much a chump

And idk how he was portrayed in the cgi show, but grievous was critically wounded in the last (I think) clone wars ep, kinda explaining his suckitude in ep3.
also Lucas is a chump of a director

The emperor didn't want anyone to have the ability to create secret armies, so he knocked out cloning and started recruiting humans

Am I also the only one who hates that both Sidious and Yoda do ridiculous lightsaber shit? I expected more force shit from them, like force crush or throwing shit.

Like they should have been fighting around like, some water and some fire, and they keep throwing orbs of fire and using the water to block it and flipping the earth over and causing massive shit.

Basically being like a Avatar: The Last Airbender fight.

Season 2 of the clone wars mini series is so so good, and was given a lot of stuff to work with from lucasfilm. This is why is takes place as a direct lead up to Ep 3. Like, it SHOULD be canon! IT SHOULD BE! But it's not?

It makes me so mad because that Greivious is so so so so good, and to see him turned into a crappy villain for all of 3 and clone wars is so sad.

The cartoon. And completely unlike the live action movie.

I'd also accept the Dumbledore vs Voldemort fight in the Ministry of Magic as an example.

There was one good bit in the first ep of The Clone Wars, when Ventress tries to go after Yoda and he simply tut tuts at her and immobilizes her with the force. Though in the same episode there's just as much tiny green ninja antics, so it's still ehhhh.

Of course, the real power of Yoda and Sidious are their influence over people. Yoda's power shouldn't be that he's a great warrior at all, it's that he's wise and good and can train his students to be great jedi as well. Sidious is scary because he can flip the greatest warrior in the galaxy and take over the government without having to fight at all, while his various minions who are good with lightsabers eventually fall.

Yes, the Dumbledore vs Voldemort fight (even though I don't like Harry Potter) puts Lucas to fucking shame. That is how a battle between two masters of the force should have been.
