So last night my best public operations manager and I checked out a local watering hole called, appropriately, "Venkman’s".
The staff at Venkman's in Fourth Ward was more than accommodating to our visit on their opening night. Live music and very tasty cocktails kept the patrons pouring out positive PKE and while a poltergeist or two may have toppled a glass here or there the establishment attained high marks all around! You can be sure your Atlanta Ghostbusters will return for a followup survey in the future.
I made a nice, little inspection form to leave with them.
No charge this time but we let them know a removal is going to cost them some.
Happy birthday today to our founder and spokesperson Dr. Peter Venkman!
I mean Bill Murray!
Also to Billy Bryan, the special effects wizard who created the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!
Many happy returns, Bills!
In other news filming has wrapped on Ghostbusters 2016! Some spoilers about cameos and shooting locations:
Ernie Hudson (who played Winston Zeddemore) and the great Annie Potts (Janine) reportedly cameoed on the last day of filming.
Another familiar face also appeared!
The old firehouse doors were put back onto Hook & Ladder 8 in lower Tribeca as the old firehouse became the shooting location for the last couple of days of filming. Sounds like the old girl is going to be in the film after all!
Today Ghostbusters Antarctica departs to Earth's southern ice cap to investigate reports of an unusual mountain range and strange readings from under the ice.
There is even some speculation that there could be a massive breeding surge in the penguin population.
Chilling!
Landen M. York is going to lead the team as a member of their fire department and as their lead paranormal eliminator.
I hope he remembered his copies of The Thing and The Shining.
Pretty sure those are required viewing for anyone spending time in Antarctica.
I checked. They have an extensive DVD lending library and also a massive collection of VHS tapes. It turns out that all those old tapes from your childhood that vanished a few years after the onset of DVDs? They all turn up at the bottom of the world.
I took my Atlanta Ghostbusters to Netherworld Haunted House tonight. It was like pulling teeth to get in touch with some kind of manager but I finally cleared the bust with them yesterday.
Despite the rain playing hide and seek with us most of the night, we had a great time. We got a ton of new followers on social media and everyone seemed to really love having us there.
It's a really elaborate and over-the-top dark attraction full of insane sets, effects and outstanding actors that bring it all together. They even had a side path that brought you through a "foam room", which let us reenact some ending scenes from our favorite movie.
Then we got pancakes.
October is off to a good start.
Ghost season is ON boys and girls. Let me hear of your exploits!
Thinking instead of scaring kids passing through the inflatable haunted house my parents put up like I usually do for halloween, if I can get a basic kit together. use my ghostbusting expertise to guide them safely through the haunted zone.
3 mortgages, I don't even have a house, how could they lend me all this money.....??
"Go down, kick ass, and set yourselves up as gods, that's our Prime Directive!"
I went to Oktoberfest in the Amana Colonies yesterday, and literally the first people I see after walking past the sign saying "Welcome to Oktoberfest" were a couple of Ghostbusters, with proton packs and everything! I gave them a thumbs up and told them to keep up the good work. I would have asked them some questions but they were in the process of leaving so I didn't want to hold them up.
I didn't know that was the artist! That's really cool!
Now I want a rhythm-based ghost-busting game.
3DS game, where the ghost fights against the particle beam in rhythm with the music and you have to tap and swipe at the screen based on its struggling in order to contain it.
Announced during a panel at New York Comic Con, the new series -- which picks up where "Ghostbusters: Get Real" and the 2015 annual leave off -- begins with the 'Busters performing their unique service at the United Nations only to earn a few trips overseas to track down problematic spirits. The series will take the team to Italy and France for starters, but that doesn't mean all the ghouls in the Big Apple will just take it easy.
Life imitates art, etc etc. I need to get better at posting GB news in this thread! I just get so excited and after sharing on social media I forget to bring it here too.

I... don't remember...

Oh, and remember when I said this?
Well... here's a preview:
I'll probably put a little revision number at the bottom with your group cited as form creators.
Be my guest!

4600 pieces for $350 bucks?
Holy shit if that's true.
Well I'm not buying any LEGOs for a while... to save up for this.
I can see it being 4600 pieces at that price just because it's going to be a LOT of standard brick pieces and those are super cheap for lego.
I thought for sure this one would get the vote instead:

If you have Netflix, you may want to check out Werner Herzog's documentary Encounters at the End of the World
I haven't seen it yet, but I'll watch it tonight.
Everyone wish Landen M York a safe journey and hopefully we'll see him again in a year's time!

Biggest mark against this video is that they didn't use the Ghost Dad sprite from Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden.

Fascinating!
This is everything I have ever wanted from life.
I can die now.
They find a box of stuff in her head!
Some of those items were important to the plot, but who left the rest there...?

Wow.

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Thanks @Owenashi!
The more IDW comic news that comes out the happier I get. I love that book!
The bit I'm most excited for is more Kylie Griffin and the rest of the b-team holding things down in the US while the guys go globetrotting.
Kinda.
They're in Florida fighting spectral gators!
