They used to have some totally-not Striking Scorpion Exarch model there, though (afaik) under a different name. That was one of the few things the lawsuit actually forced them to kill.

I actually liked that Chapterhouse model, if only because it was a non-cheesecake female model with the Striking Scorpion Exarch weapons I liked the most that GW never released. Always intended to grab one.

Anyway, what I actually came here to post: Vermintide looks pretty interesting.
Yeah, looks fun. And the skaven are the perfect race for a horde-mode enemy.
I hope we get to see rat ogres and verminlords. There was word of bosses. If we get to see a Skaven undercity rendered in full 3D glory, it'll definitely get a sale from me.
Rat ogres are in the game, pretty much the equivalent to the Tanks in L4D.
Yes! Saw one of them come in at the end of the vid there. It's neat that all the elite specialist troops in the Skaven act as the equivalent of the mutant infected from L4D. Still hoping we get Verminlords - I was disappointed to hear there would not be a story campaign. I think a group of adventurers gradually making their way into the depths of the Undercity beneath an Imperial town in the midst of a Skaven uprising, ultimately confronting a grey seer who summons a Verminlord as a final boss would be pretty spectacular. Maybe you'd face Deathmaster Snikch along the way, or Thanqual and Boneripper.
Well, if it becomes popular enough maybe we'll get some DLC where Skaven characters act as bosses.
No matter how many times you've done it before it's still possible to the GW webstore look at some of the prices and think "What the fucking fuck GW has entirely lost their minds. No seriously. Fuck this."
And then realise you are on the Australian store. Poor bastards.
(Please do not gift. My game bank is already full.)

So, if anyone wants to rid themselves of their Skaven Stormfiends for cheap let me know. Or any other Skaven related things
Those models are ridiculous looking. I must have them for my Chaos Marines.

Gave in looked at the system for AoS...
And I'm in love. Got the BRB and the Starter.
As for the current releases being all Sigmarines, I think you have to include the End Times stuff as created for AoS.
So in theory it's not just Sigmarines - you have to include Nagash, Glotkin and Blightbringers, the Skaven stuff, etc.
Once Tau is out I wouldn't be surprised if the next AoS release is Undead (Deathrattlers) or Nurgle (Rotbringers).
Judging from the duardin (dwarven) art/fluff in the BRB Dwarves will be receiving some very attractive Slayer units in the future.

The fact that Nagash entirely breaks the game shows he wasn't intended for use.
Like, he can summon the equivalent of an old 2000pt list in a turn. Which he'll be in sudden death against for for because the Undead player brought a single model. Unless your opponent brought a single model so there was no sudden death, which in that case his single model is fighting a huge army.
I don't doubt that there's a casual game in there somewhere, but the old armies all the way up to the end of End Times are not the inteded use of the system. As a GW rep said, their rules are a last hurrah for the old ways.
I played a single game of AoS and I don't get it. The random turn rule makes every move a coin toss. I started the game moved forward.. nothing was in range. My opponent moved forward and shot. Got first turn moved forward, shot again and charged...and the game was pretty much over. We used 60 something wounds each.
Seems like that would happen 50% of the time? First try for me and my opponent so maybe we got something wrong.

No, it's a pretty broken system. Obscenely broken. Hilariously broken on more or less every level.
It might be possible, with a heroic effort, to get something workable out of the rules, but as written, they're going to result in unbalanced clusterfucks pretty much every time.

Have you looked at and tried Laws of War yet?
Because that seems to alleviate any concerns I have or were brought up. (Ulgu shuts down Nagash and Hysh handles shooting.)
Is it official (yet)? No, but the pdf I'm looking at on scrib and it looks pretty damn legit to me... and if it IS fake, then someone just made themselves a extremely nice resume.
And I say this as the guy that broke the 40k 5th edition and CSM, and Demon pdfs all those years ago, and they turned out to be just as legit. (The demon rules I was given turned out to be a working copy, specifically that Horrors turned out a bit different.)
I think @Echo either infracted me or warned me about it, too. /Nostalgia

I guess they're hoping that their search results will swiftly flood out the existing ones?
It's either that or they didn't bother even googling their new nonsense name. Or maybe they don't actually mind sharing their search results with what appears to be a term for furry tickle porn?
At this point I wonder if any of the armies will see as big (or comparable) a shift as Empire to Sigmarines? Seraphon seem to be sticking pretty much completely to the lizardman mold. Perhaps Dwarfs will be more dramatic a shift, what with their flaming beards and more emphasis on steampunk technology. Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations of how big an impact AoS would really have on the model lines.

I'm fairly sure that shift was because empire and bretonnians were easy to fill out with historical minis and they decided to replace them with something that is uniquely GW.
Is the Empire really completely gone as a faction? I was of the belief that GW would still have Sigmarites and the Empire side by side like you do with Space Marines and Imperial Guard in 40k.
I always liked the Empire (and IG) for it just being a bunch of normal (ok...relatively normal) guys coming up against some really weird stuff.

Empire models show up in photos alongside the Sigmarines in the AoS books.
Seems like there's going to be a new Archaon model with a major size upgrade for Dorghar. Kinda disappointing that power=size now also comes to the Lord of the Endtimes. But I also think that the last version of the model was one of GW's all time classics.
I'm a bit confused as to why they're releasing a new Archaon model several months after a rulebook literally named after him. Still, this suggests we might see some of the rumoured models for The End Times that never surfaced - stuff like a new Malekith/Malerion.

Holy shit. GW is starting 2016 with a bang. These new starter boxes are fucking aces (for 40k, too) and exactly what they should have been doing all along. Also, Fyreslayers FTW.

So what actually is happening with this game and is Age of Sigmar any good? Most of the people at my FLGS who play Warhammer hate AoS with a passion, playing some variant of the old Warhammer Rules called 9th Age (or something). I've noticed mostly that AoS seems to have been an attempt to make Warhammer look more like 40k and reduce the number of models per box (while raising the price it looks like). What's actually going on and is there any kind of consensus in the thread if Age of Sigmar is worth playing?
It completely killed my local Fantasy community, so I don't know about a thread consensus but I'm still pretty irritated by it. The starter boxes seem like the best thing to come out of Age of Sigmar (there's a good chance I'll pick up an Elf one if/when it gets released, albeit to most likely play a different game) but it's way too little much too late.

$220au for Skarbrand.
