Ah yes, Mr Perfect's TNA run where he brags about beating up Brock Lesnar on the Plane Ride From Hell, feuds with David Flair, then dies of a cocaine overdose.

They also said they've signed ROH contracts but that might be a storyline thing. Then again, ROH will guarantee them full creative control unlike WWE so maybe they did sign something official?
If they choose that over a WrestleMania appearance then they weren't lying about wanting artistic integrity over money.
I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!!

For those surprised that WWE would pass on them and let all that potential merch money slip from their fingers, keep in mind they don't own nor did they create the Broken characters.

I thought the "tna owns the broken gimmick" turned out to be more carny bullshit?

It was. I'm saying because Matt owns the character that's a good reason why we might never see it in WWE.
I just don't see the two sides coming to proper terms unless WWE really changes their business practices.

Okay, cool, yeah, I (thankfully) misunderstood your post
I'd be pretty sad if that wasn't the case
Also I agree, WWE will never imo sign any deals that would give the hardys the creative control they'd demand

There's no way in hell Matt would sign over the rights to WWE. And that's the only way they'd come in.
I believe they're the first tag team in history to be WCW, ROH, TNA, and WWE tag team champions. Pretty impressive legacy. Either they or the Dudleyz have to be the most prolific tag team in history at this point, right? Who else has a longer track record in more companies than either of them?

Eli Drake said in an interview that wrestling should have credits (ex. "Shawn Spears as Eli Drake"), and that is a thing I'm genuinely curious to hear people's takes on here.

Maybe they just come back as the Hardy Boyz for a few months, get a few PPV paydays and then go back and Matt banks on independent circuit.
I know WWE doesn't really care about negative or positive crowd reactions anymore but boy oh boy will it be negative if Matt and Jeff show up as Team Xtreme and not Broken, with Matt being 42 and Jeff being near 40.
I know Attitude Era nostalgia trumps all today but yeesh.

I loved the six months where he went to the indies and had all the dream matches before WWE resigned him.
