So how long does it usually take to get over a crush? Cause I feel like I'm going through withdrawals and thinking about her even more than I had been.

This is probably unrelated, but I've also had two nights in the past week where I've only been able to sleep for about two hours, and I've never had problems with insomnia before.

You ever go to the gym?

Cause I'm gonna tell you to go to the gym. The gym has thus far been the single greatest method of working through feels that I personally have found. It does good brain shit and you get buff so like, go pick up a thing.

As a non-gym-goer, I feel obliged to point out that outside-the-gym stuff works too. Ride a bike or something.

Mostly, though, you're dealing with the disappointment related to the decision not to go down that road plus the crush, now, and that'll probably wear off. But seriously, find something else to be focused on for a while.

    From Alice in Chains?

When I was young and just discovering "mature" music, I thought the lead singer of the band's name was Allison Chains and I was 110% positive that he and Alice Cooper were the same person just using multiple stage names.

I remember trying to impress everyone at a family gathering with this Pro Music Knowledge. My dad just smiled knowingly and after dinner my cousin got out her record collection and schooled me hard.

On the Bumble app, if I swipe left on someone who has swiped right, does that remove them from my 'queue' thing? Or does that just stay there forever.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I figured it out. But it also reselected someone I just swiped right on and that's...weird? I already swiped right on this person, why are you wanting me to be all judgmental again.

Nah, man, don't take it to heart

When I was trying at it, I just got so many messages that it was difficult to really let any stand out amidst the fatigue that built up from seeing so many variations on the same message

Well, outside of the ones that were really bad

Maybe I should just go for it with my friend and co-worker

There's enough space now that it feels like we're more acquaintances than friends and I miss talking to her like I used to

Maybe I should have said yes to the nice lady I said no to last week, I said no because she's a co-worker and I just don't see her that way, I guess

Maybe I shouldn't have shut down the other lady earlier in the spring

Maybe I shouldn't be too anxious to go out with a lady who has five kids and has been asking around about me for a while

Maybe I should see what my winter crush that just didn't seem to have enough time to date me is up to

Maybe I should ask the surg tech crush out again

The OKC thing is done, I think

There's no one new on it, I've messaged everyone above a 70% who isn't either a Christian And It's Important or a racist

And it's the same people on all the different apps and it's weird and making me uncomfortable

Move to a giant city and all of your problems will... continue but there will at least be a larger amount and variety of people for you to date.

Many of them won't be Importantly Christian. More than a few will likely still be racists.

    No. Nope. Negative. Non.

You made the right call, based on what you told us. Being lonely sucks, yeah but it's a nice, steady, uneventful suck as opposed to the potential HORRIFYING, FIREY CAR CRASH that that situation could've become. Just ride out the downer wave as best you can, don't waste time going over useless "What if's" in your head, and you'll come out better for it on the other side.

    This. One million times this.

I survived my own fiery horrible car crash plus the fallout from another's firey horrible car crash from a related thing. It did a number on my mental health and it's a fucking miracle I'm still friends with the person I had the FWB thing with. Trust me and all these others. You did the right thing. Some things just aren't worth it friendo.

Yeah, I do have hobbies and passions

This is the love thread though, not the hobbies and passions thread

Yeah, I do spend too much time thinking about women, I guess

    Or I post too much

I have this post every couple of weeks, huh

I know I am in control, but people in my life are eager to fix me up with people, and it keeps it in my head

Working two jobs today, that should help

I guess I need to get better at dealing with things that make me acutely lonely?

I went out to dinner with my parents last night, and my dad was talking about this friend of theirs wanting to fix me up with a date, which is a thing I need to get used to, I guess

And I saw a friend of my ex's there too, and she definitely kept looking across the restaurant to scowl at me

I tried a FWB situation back when I was going through my divorce. A kinda rebound thing, y'know? No strings, just fun...

    We got married in 2013.

I think I did it wrong.

Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

Ohh, its a venom vs poison thing? oops - my bad!

There is literally no difference between poison except the avenue it enters your body. Venom has to be injected. Poison does not.

EDIT: I should clarify that the exact same compound that is venom in one animal can be poison in another, and some animals are both venomous and poisonous. If the animal injects the junk into you, it's venom. If it's transfered dermally or has to be ingested from the animal, it's poison.

Ironically German does not have a word for that. Just the false friend Gift.
