hot take: The pacing of Dark Crystal and Labyrinth is garbage and I've fallen asleep through both of them.
I am sad for you.
Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

I'm watching the first episode of Dear White People and some of the problems I had with the movie are really front and centre. It might do more with them though, I don't know. I find the casting of Lionel to be kind of bad (after only a couple of scenes) because his hair isn't messy enough and he's clearly pretty gorgeous and built.
I'm hoping they call the skeezy white boyfriend out on being the piece of shit that he is, which the original never did.
Folks need to recognize that CBS has been getting pretty damn liberal the last couple years.
That's a bit of a stretch. This year, especially, they've come under a fair bit of criticism for the overwhelming whiteness of their fall lineup
They could certainly take a page out of ABC's book.
But Elementary had a positive portrayal of a trans woman on their show and their primary late-night talk-show host shit talks the president every week night.
I can't wait for Sam and Dean to have to murder Scoob because he's a hellhound or something
Scooby can't become a hell-hound because then we'd have to see what a hell-hound actually looks like on Supernatural.

We already have seen what they look like, Zonny.
I checked out of the show at season eight, did it happen after that point?

They have to kill a hellhound for some ritual, and part of it involves wearing glasses that lets them see the hellhounds. So for a brief scene we see a hellhound attack one of them.
I stopped watching the show around the time they introduced the mark of Cain.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I really don't like episodes where they do 2 boots in a single hour. It always feels rushed, and in the case of this episode, the episode ended up a real mess IMO. The Andrea boot I expected, because she's been perceived as a big target for a while now. The Michaela boot is what I have a problem with. And I accept that if the live tribal and the Cirie/Sarah thing resulted in Sarah getting Troy/Brad to vote Michaela off that there might not have been any talk about it beforehand, but it just ended up feeling like a real mess where there was no coherent story.
- I'm still not sure if Cirie was talking about Sarah or somebody else when she said she was going to use the vote steal to prove somebody is a rat.
- Did Sarah take out Michaela to weaken Cirie, knowing that Cirie will never win an immunity and can be removed at F6, F5, or F4?
These are important questions related to that final tribal that the story of the episode didn't give any clarity about.
I'm at least hoping for a solid finale. Sarah continues to run circles around the other players so if she ends up winning even with this obvious edit, I won't be upset about it.
Prediction: F3 is Sarah, Brad(finishes his what would monica do arc and finishes 2nd place just like she did her 2nd time out) and then Troyzan is the 3rd place goat with no votes. I still think Aubry's edit points to her being rocked/idoled out probably at F6 or F5, then Cirie goes out right near the end.
I think Sarah wins because despite doing a lot of the jury dirty, some of these jurors will respect the gameplay, and that combined with how open Brad is about how wealthy he is makes the jury decide to give the win to Sarah.
Halfway through this season of Fargo and I've found it pretty blah so far. It's just... familiar. Been there done that etc.
I get that it's an anthology show, but this year really feels like it's running on a template. It's simply not as fresh or exciting as the first two seasons.
Varga is no Lorne Malvo or Mike Milligan. The Stussey brothers aren't Lester Nygaard. Nikki Swango is no Peggy Blumquist and Gloria is no Molly Solverson. Everything feels like a shadow of what we saw the last two years. Which is really disappointing because I love Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon and was so excited for this one.
I think a lot of people wondered if Hawley could keep up the quality on Fargo while splitting time doing Legion and writing books and whatever. I haven't watched season 3 of Fargo yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't like it as much as the first 2 seasons. Though most of the critical reception I've seen online still indicates it's top tier.

Agreed on pretty much all points. The Michaela boot was the worst kind of sloppy. Cirie making so big, and so avoidable, a blunder could've easily carried an episode of its own - when the Social Game Sun Tzu fucks up, that's your main story. That it got so rushed through, and ended up with a collateral damage boot, is such shitty storytelling. Y'all couldn't have shuffled the last two boring-as-shit episodes to make one of them the double boot ep?
The first half of this season was really fun, but man, the post-merge has been so frustrating and slapdash. This is one of those Survivor finales that we get every so often, where I'll be "enduring" more than "enjoying."

Ah, well. Here's to the next season.
Survivor:
Agreed. This entire season seems to be suffering from some weird editorial problems where they can't figure out what story to tell. I feel like the only story we've gotten this season is Sarah stabs people in the back.
And other than her doing siren sounds on her way to the well, we haven't gotten anything to make the audience really like Sarah as a character, just her talking about her strategy in confessionals, no explanation of why these people all trust her and like her so much despite her playing a super aggressive Tony-esque game.
I wasn't the biggest fan of MvGX, but at least we had all these different stories, the figtails showmance, the triforce, David's growth arc, David vs. Zeke, Adam and Jay bonding over Adam's mom, etc. Feels like GC has no character stories, though I suppose the same could be said about Second Chances, so maybe this is just how modern all returnee seasons are going to be.
Honestly, my hope is that they will decide not to do any more all returnee seasons unless it's something like legends or all winners, because this season has been too much like all stars in that most of the best players who would've made for the most entertaining post merge got booted early.
I'm just glad 35 and 36 are both all newbie seasons. Hopefully we can get another solid cast of new blood or two.
It's definitely been an odd season. It has had some great moments, but no real great storylines. I think the next few weeks could at least make for fun tribals just because of all the idols out there still and the remaining power. I'll definitely be glad to get newcomer seasons. I guess maybe we should be grateful for the compressed week, I'm guessing very little happened at camp worth seeing. It feels a bit like the camp life has fizzled compared to other seasons as well.

Aubrey's card stacking was pretty amazing though!
Next week's the finale, so they're plum out of time to right the ship, unfortunately

I want it to capture that feeling from the original.
with Scooby-Doo
the episode will be at least partially animated
It also features another scene where a muppet brandishes a pocket knife and stabs another muppet to death.
The Dark Crystal is metal as fuck.
This is fantastic
This is happening
(in comic form)
I am sad for you.
I actually agree. Still love the movies though.
But how do you fall sleep during the Labyrinth?
How do you fall asleep when Bowie and his package are on screen?
a Chuck Lorre show...good?

scrappy would be the hellhound
Started Murdock Mysteries for the hell of it, liking it thus, three seasons in.

Ah well
I still bought the season pass, but I haven't watched any of them yet.
That being said, between Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aubrey Plaza, it's been a banner year for attractive brunettes on FX.

1. there is a cw reboot of dynasty
2. it is airing back to back with riverdale
is the event horizon of perfect television
How does Flim Flam fit into this?
Can one night even handle that much drama?
as in it's nearing the gravitational pull of perfect television
or it's a hell spaceship possessed by hell from the hell dimension?
