Listen to !T.O.O.H.! if you can find them zombies. Somewhat sorta similar to them, but more grindcore/deathgrind and not really screamo at all... Just incredibly awesome.
I dont know if it was mentioned earlier in this thread but Feist and Digitalism (Their new single Pogo is awesome) are really good bands that I've recently started listening to.
And if you like Feist or Metric, Broken Social Scene is also pretty cool, and both the lead singers for each band are part of BSS.
What was that band with the bass player that was like 12 years old when the band started?
I remember hearing them on Knob's internet radio station, but I can't remember the name of the band.

I wouldn't call Feist a band, but what do I know? A good band that goes under the lead singer's name is Danko Jones. I missed them when they came to town, which sucks, because it seems like they'd put on a good show. Danko Jones (the dude) has a pretty awesome spoken word record too.

Really, this is like the third time I've listened to Fire up the Blades today.
"God of the Cold White Silence" and all...
So what would you call it? A solo album? Solo artist?
She has people who play instruments and tour with her... are they not a band? She also collaborates with her BF from BSS.
so, I guess since Feist isnt a band they are a collaborative collection of musicians under the lead singer's last name producing music and touring.
Humm... sounds like a band to me.
I thought we were pals... what with our love for A song of Ice and Fire.... but then you do this.
My heart is broke.
I say good day.

uh, the majority of acts that tour under a single person's name bring backup musicians on tour with them
Turns out, it's The Replacements.
Maybe even triple.
