I appreciate how they took the fact that Anna is part of a giant family of identical Annas and mixed it into her gameplay. We'll see how often Anna's sisters'll actually jump into battle, but it's still nice.
Just a heads up, you can download the japanese language pack from the Eshop without owning the game. Just search for the game's page in the eshop and scroll down to the DLC section.
Having played for a few hours, I can say with confidence that Lissa has all of the axing that you'll need. Fredrick is more of a side bonus, though he does do a decent impression of Midna's C5.
In authentic Fire Emblem fashion, a bunch of the battles are against people who would be perfectly willing to ally with you, but are prevented from doing so by the fact that you can't communicate with them mid-fight.
Has anyone figured out the S-rank requirements in History Mode yet?
15 min, 2k enemies, low damage. Says it on the pause map (move cursor off any interesting squares).
2000 is definitely quite a step up from Hyrule Warriors. Enemies do seem to spawn in greater numbers, but reaching that in some missions is probably gonna be tough.

As someone who has barely played Fire Emblem but picked up Warriors because he NEEDS something and Hyrule Warriors isn't on the Switch yet...
Holy shit. This is like, huge levels of complexity above Hyrule Warriors. I'm enjoying it, but I'm so paranoid about losing my allies..

The joke is that they are two.

Also, tank.
Surprised she's an archer, since she's usually been a dagger user.

Not really. She doesn't really have a set class or preferred weapon - she used swords and staves in Awakening, bows in Fates and an axe in Heroes.

I mean, I still don't think we're picking the game up, but it's good to know

You can probably guess very nearly all of them.
Awakening: Owain, Tharja and Olivia
Shadow Dragon: Minerva, Linde and Navarre
OK, I would not have called Linde. But apart from her, the list has got few surprises.

... grumble grumble ... going to a wedding tonight, probably won't get to play until tomorrow
I don't have to rush all over the battlefield to take care of everybody else's problems?
I thought this was going to be a Dynasty Warriors game. Clearly, I've been lied to.

Also, promoted Lilina. Big stat bump, and can see the whole skill board now, so that's nice.

God I love awakening.
I'd like it if Darios became playable at some point. So far, I like his design and his personality better than the twins'.
...wait.
Fuck, now I wish they added Effie
