You unlock them by beating the story, but preorder unlocks them right away. I wouldn't be surprised if Android 21 also required beating the story.

Man, Frieza is the hot shit in the open beta for me. You have three different options for denial on the guy who is spamming R2 (explode near, far, or mid) and he had a mid range fireball teleport that doesn't cost shit, and instead of a beam special he has a ball that gets people the fuck off him and sets up for being rush-down a lot easier.
Nappa has a surprising amount of options too, just in the "fuck you, pay me" explosions he does, not the Nappa Know How Sabaiamen he plants.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

VV Attack is his teleport Ki shot.
Fireball Backwards + Ki is his version of Destructo Disk (be warned, it comes back and will damage you, but it also hits behind them)
Fireball Forwards + Ki is his Ball Special that knocks them the fuck off you
And I only just learned that your normals in this game work like they do in Smash. So like, pressing forward and Light attack makes you do something different than holding backwards and pressing light attack. Like, Adult Gohan does an insane rushdown against people who are not defending if you just tiltforward and press light attack, apparently.

Ok. Senzu bean question. I know he cycles between senzu, 3 rocks, senzu until he's used up all 3 senzu. But what do the different buttons for it do? Is the heavy version the only version that throws a bean off-screen to an assist?

If you dont play much, the difference between linking normals and chaining normals is huge.
