I'm more inclined to report the first ban Chromie on Sky Temple as intentional feeding, lol.

Oh Ducks, you clearly haven't played in the Silver league. Chromie/Kael are 100% first ban material down here. People have zero map awareness and clump up like a motherfucker. Those two eat for free at the buffet.

Maraad's is 100% the pickup if you're in the solo lane. Is Dauntless an option if you find yourself in the 4stack, or is it basically just always Maraad's?
Everyone seems to love Gift of the Naaru, and I do think it's fine, but Aegis of Light is a shit-ton of mitigation. Like, smart-healing an ally for a couple hundred HP every 8 seconds is cool, but what if you could give that same ally (or all your allies) 35% damage reduction for 5 seconds? On a 6-second cooldown? What?
Samaara's Light seems like the only serious competitor at level 7; I agree that Divine Steed's a trap talent.
Both ultimates look strong, and I definitely think it comes down to personal preference, and game-to-game experiences. I lean toward Sacred Ground, personally, just because that's a really strong ability on a very, very short cooldown.
Repentance seems like the 100% correct choice at 13 because giving her a massive 1.5 second snare synergizes with her kit really well.
I don't mind any of the 16 talents, but Holy Wrath seems like it just gives her so much waveclear. That seems hard for me to pass up.
And then Seraphim at 20 because Unstoppable on a 10 second cooldown is fucking insane. But I can definitely see Word of Glory being effective if you took Defender at 10.

That's pretty much it, though I'd say I think Steed is better than you're giving it credit for. Remember when everyone was complaining that Mounted Archery was busted? Steed is a better version of that. Certainly Samara's Light is also very good and probably the go-to, but on maps where there's a lot of walls you can E over as a pseudo Hanzo trait or if they're just very heavy on melee who'd have a rough time dismounting you Steed can be worth it. It can also serve as a chase tool since if someone blows an escape you get away from you you can hit Z and be right back on top of them with your like 210% movespeed.
The main issue with Aegis is that Avenging Wrath is a huge chunk of her damage, so missing out on casting it on enemies hurts. If you have another bruiser who you're diving in with it's probably very worth, but Gift is just much easier to get value out of generally.
Aegis is good but squishes die faster than she can jump. It is mostly useful for jumping on your team in their team in a dive comp. otherwise I prefer gift because it both just works and doesn’t require you to burn your dps on armor for teams.
Ardent Defender is mandatory vs % blowup because she just dies.
Holy Wrath is op and gonna get nerfed probably so yes you want that.

Am I on the mark here? Or am I missing something?
Maraad's literally always, the other two simply do not compete.
I find that I'm not jumping near my team like ever, so Gift works out better. It's still a really chunky heal. And healing can definitely be more valuable than mitigation, a lot of the time.
I like the Ult upgrades at 20 a lot. Word of Glory translates to a lot of team healing, and being able to move Sacred Ground is reeeeeally nice and versatile. Seraphim is good though, for sure.
I was very frustrated that I couldn't just buy the skins I wanted and had to engage with a loot box system to get them.
I feel whiny assholes is perhaps a bit strong. Though I didn't buy the harley skin because the hair physics are fuckin' nuts and super distracting lol.
Also even if Blizzard decided to make them available for gems because of complaints, there's no reason for them to remove the ability to get them from boxes or with shards.
So I think it's fair to say any problems here are entirely of Blizzard's own making.
Watching Pallytime video, New Azmodan looks like they gutted everything that was fun and good about him.
Soloing any assassin that didn't have a stun or getting a keep if you ever left him alone for 5 sec?

I mean if you ever let Azmo have his laser on you for more than two seconds as an assassin you positioned badly. The gutting is basically just "Tide of Sin is a shit version of Black Pool".

I got interested in banning preferences and decided to look them up on HotSlogs:

Yup. I climbed from Silver->Plat in a single season mostly by playing Tracer, Li-Ming, and Thrall.

Playing Sonya, against a Varian/Alex/Jaina/Maiev/Zag:
"Why are you playing Sonya like a dps?"
"...Cause she's not a main tank?"
"what the FUCK shes THE BEST TANK IN THE GAME YOU IDIOT."
The new catagories system can't come fast enough. In what world is sonya going to ever be able to tank against that team comp.
We had a Diablo on my team too. Along with a Lucio, Aba, and Sylvanas. On dragonshire. We lost that one as soon as the matchmaker put those teams together

The best tank in the game is clearly Sgt. Hammer. There is literally no contest.

I mean if Varian doesn't go taunt that's actually a pretty good team for Sonya to tank into. They've got literally zero ways to interrupt spin.
Edit: Not to say their reasoning is correct, of course!

In, say, 2014 I may have even found it amusing.
I've also heard Mewn using it a lot, which is disappointing. I prefer it when he keeps his salt wholesome.
