I respawned, found my ship. And because of the radioactive environment, and toxic caves, I cannot do anything about anything. It's too hard to explore the surface without dying from radiation in order to relearn how the game works and do my repairs, and the caves just kill me outright, soooooo........

Procedurally generated crap.
Yuss another rave review for my OP.
Still tho, while the new introduction to the game is brutally harsh (it apparently deliberately puts you on a hazardous planet, and then throws a storm at you right about when you'd get comfortable) it is also survivable. I think you're expected to die a few times if you don't know what you're doing.
And besides, ridiculous nonsense is all part of the fun.
Like that guy who landed on a tiny island on an ocean planet without enough fuel to take off again, and also the oceans were radioactive.
I beat the first chamber of Enter the Gungeon and felt unreasonably pleased with myself. Second chamber murdered me pretty quickly. Even after reading about the method for finding secret rooms (shoot walls with guns to see cracks, then use a blank) I haven't found any. Either they're rare or I'm doing it wrong. I did unlock a new shop, though.
The "wait how do you unlock that thing" nature of some of the game approaches Dark Souls levels of opacity.

i’m always a fan of a game mechanic that works in such a way you’re never sure you’re doing it right
Some stuff on sale for the PS4 right now I've been thinking about for a while. DS3 and Pillars of Eternity, for two. Maybe picking up the whole original Uncharted trilogy as well.
But also I have like twenty games, mostly free from PS+, I haven't played at all. It's not as stupid as everyone's Steam backlogs, but it's still kind of stupid.
Also I want to start a new game in No Man's Sky and painstakingly claw my way up to the point I'm at now with my old save as if that's a good idea in any way, shape or form.

I am being strong and resisting buying anything until I've got through my backlog. Which I think is finishing the Witcher 3, then Prey, then Deus Ex Subtitle and then something else I also got from PS+ and thought looked interesting
Homogeneous distribution of your varieties of amuse-gueule
Both the last Tomb Raider games are rul gud. Still, though I know games have moved on from the old days of the original PS games and the trade off in writing, story and so forth is worth it but I would like there to be a more concerted effort in Tomb Raider games to raid lots of tombs. Raiding Russian army camps is very nice and all but it isn't quite what I want.

Yes, but with slightly improved gameplay and slightly worse writing
Slightly more raiding of tombs, a bit bigger, a bit better, but it's very much a sequel to that game.
