Yeah "Bernie isnt a democrat" is going to be a fart in a high wind for voters.
It matters for primary voters. But it's a stupid issue. He's got a lot in common with Democrats (about 90% of things) and nothing in common with Republicans.
Is there polling on this?
I'm going more on primary voters in this thread talking about how it matters to them.
To be honest I don't set much stock in polls. They seem to be largely worded to prove the point of whoever wrote them rather than to elicit useful information.

This is all a big stretch to find reasons to dislike a candidate
If the deepest darkest thing you can find about Warren or Sanders is that they haven’t always been a big D Democrat you’re not really looking at things that matter outside of the DC bubble
Both politicians have done stuff that is more important and worthy of a critical eye than the banner they fly
Hogwash.
Warren has never played fast and loose with her party affiliation in order to impress the cool kids.
Isn't absolute loyalty to the party kind of a shitty thing to demand?
It's the shitty product of a shitty system that can't even start being fixed until reasonable people are in enough positions of power to prevent a racist regime from crippling the country simply by being lock step on every issue.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but doing this would be objectively bad for the country. I'm already expecting Gabbard to run independently to pull some votes away from the Dem candidate.
Yeah, she seems to be working up to that. I don't think Bernie would ever do that. He doesn't seem to be the sort of asshole who'd rather the right win than he loses. I'd never consider voting for him if I thought that.
But Gabbard seems to be a very strange person indeed, a kind of alt-right socialist blend with a healthy heaping of conspiracy theory paranoia.

I think I’ve seen how much party identification matters to them a few days ago. It’s about 0.

I think it’s all very contextual, and we currently exist within a dangerously precarious context. I don’t expect the average voter to care, but I understand why some people would be upset about it.

One thing beto could say to really impress me as the candidate who is tired of all this shit is "I will dismantle the republican party"

That wouldn't impress me, because its just plain impossible. What, you want him to declare a one-party state? Declare ~40% of Americans terrorists?

I’m less annoyed about the symbol itself than what it symbolizes—the way his campaign likes to pick fights with establishment Dem groups to try and elevate itself, for instance.

Apparently he wants to buy all the guns so once he has all the guns I think hes in what would have what is generally called "the high ground"

This is fuckin silly.
Warren changed parties because she realized she was wrong and that someone else was right, and then she's worked her ass off to work against her prior ideology.
Sanders is a cantankerous asshole that can't be bothered to join the team he wants to take full control of.
The reason we're looking at their party affiliations is different. In Warren's case it's an indication of someone that can grow as a person. In sanders case it's an indication he thinks he's better than me and that joining my team would sully him in some way.
If you can't grasp the difference of why we can look at these two very different stories and draw different conclusions from them you're not trying hard enough.

Cool people troll the thread by joke pushing for ideas that mean a further slide towards authoritarianism and racism based populism.
Vaping in their trenchcoat and fingerless gloves cool.
After a while it’s no longer a joke.
So the geese here who have flat out said they wouldn’t vote for Biden, or who think that Sanders should run as a spoiler, or whatever bullshit half-assed trolling idea are effectively the same as the folks who genuinely believe it.
Sanders is a cantankerous asshole that can't be bothered to join the team he wants to take full control of.
That several decades of caucusing and fundraising isnt joining the team but having a D next to your name on the chyron is really says it all.
Nah it's ideological purity bullshit. If we're on the same team admit you're on the team. If you don't wanna be on my team, cause you think you're better than the team don't try to take over the team.

Bernie Sanders. Consensus builder.
Nah I'll lay Bernie's shit on Bernie.
But someone pushing that shit because they're frustrated with how others feel about their chosen candidate - when they know other members of this forum are part of much more marginalized groups then the majority and are either living in fear or directly suffering this administration - then there's a line being crossed.

Well after the 5 pages of Bernie is not actually a Democrat so he shouldn't be running as a democrat I have been convinced and seen the light.

Nothing says other people are too concerned about purity like complaining about Bernie Sanders technical party affiliation.
He's pretty nakedly an ideologue.
That's again his entire fuckin brand right now.
It's the reason you're stanning so damn hard. Cause he's the only guy saying socialism.
You literally admitted you don't care if his plans are critically and recognizably flawed. Literally does not at matter to you. All you care about is that he's the guy saying socialism or virtue signaling socialist tendencies with broken ill thought out legislation.
The reason he doesn't join the party is ideological purity. If Warren was concerned with ideological purity shed still be an R.
I dislike ideological purity. The party hasn't been ideologically pure in about a decade or more.
Especially if he's trying to change the ideological underpinnings of the party, a thing we should do, he should admit he's part of the party.

It is kinda hilarious seeing the switch from defending Warren’s Republican past to some people tripping over themselves to do the “he’s not actually a Democrat and blah blah” dance. People care about stupid bullshit when they want to care about stupid bullshit, and they don’t have the slightest embarrassment about it.
I specifically didn't bring it up during that discussion because I don't think it's a fair judgment against him either, though it is perhaps something that could be compared with arguing about her past party registration.
Both are dumb things to get hung up on and I suspect both are issues that regular voters are not going to actually care about or let guide their votes.

I saw him shootin some hoops. Did he dunk? I dunno because there isn't video of it.
Excuse me, Bill played the Sax on TV, while wearing sunglasses.
You guys heard it here folks, Marathon things a sex creep is cool.
For shame
If Bernie can dunk I'll vote for him in the primary. That's my promise to all of you.

Obama was a dork among dad's and it still made him cooler then 99% of other politicians.
Which is to say he isn't cool.
