I don't really mind dubs even though 95%+ of the anime I watch is subbed. In some cases dubs are objectively better. Samurai Pizza Cats, Black Lagoon etc.

When I hear all the dumb anime things spoken out loud in English, my brain rejects it so hard.
If I hear it in Japanese and only read it in English, I have some kind of synesthesia where my brain puts all the pieces together just so and it works.
I was much more into anime in the 90s. These days I only watch a series if I somehow hear of it and it manages to catch my interest, which has only happened two times in a decade.
The announcement of this series brings that up to three times.
I ordered book 7 of Made in Abyss since it just released. I'm both excited and worried. Book 6 took some hard turns for some sad stuff and I don't think book 7 is gonna get any happier.
I'm also bummed out because it looks like book 14 for Watamote was pushed back to an October release when it was previously the same day as book 7 of Made in Abyss.
Got my MiA 7 yesterday. Don't worry, its all rainbows and cupcakes!!! Really!

Kubo Tite did the character design for this, right?
And yet, I can still barely stand dubs, because the way people speak English in dubs sounds just off enough to drive me insane.
I don't know what Japanese is supposed to sound like outside of anime and games and music, so it doesn't trip my brain up.
I guess it's like a linguistic uncanny valley?
Well you posted a Myth/Roid song, and all of them are godly no matter the language.
As far as weebness goes with music, I think enjoying a song you don't understand (at least partially) language wise makes you appriciate the music more. Look at the Made in Abyss song that uses a completely made up language:
hanezeve caradhina
PS: Your right about american dubs sounding like crap 90% of the time.

Yeah, he did the designs for these main characters in the new game, too.

I do love a good conlang song.

Kubo is real good at character design. He just can’t do plotting
ok, so I gotta know. what, exactly, is the driving force behind Boruto? like, naruto felt like it ended pretty definitively, no more warring states, gods at peace, best buds, settled down. what's the big threat now? what exactly happened to the world that makes it so that a preteen tells me that Boruto is stronger than Naruto?
Money ruins everything pretty much. And Naruto stuff is made of money at the moment. Gotta hit Bleach levels to be able to die off.
Fucking Bleach.
Has there been any anime that went from that popular to pretty much being forgotten about?

Kubo clearly wanted to focus on the human characters but they weren't winning the polls. I can sympathize with losing interest when you lose control of your story

Yeah I recall supereyepatch wolf did a deep dive on it that went into how bleach fell. Basically combination of Tite burning out, constant demands of more arcs and more story beyond what he was capable of.
I read recently that apparently Haruhi didn't end with its last book (in 2011), it went on indefinite hiatus? Which...sure, that makes sense.
I guess it's hard to figure out what to do with a series defined by all its main cast fighting desperately to prevent the main plot from progressing and turns its alleged main heroine into a background character because she can't be involved in any of the interesting stuff--or develop as a person much past 'unrepentant narcissist'--lest the plot progress.
...I started thinking, writing that, that I might have grown to hate the series, but I'd still read another book if one came out.

he doesn't even want to be a hunter, he just does it for fun!

Oh yeah! His shittiness is definitely kind of low level compared to later villains, though perhaps notable for providing him no material benefit. He's just a troll.

Even though I hate Naruto, when his series started he didn't start out as ninja Jesus and worked his ass off to pick up skills and jutsus.
Naruto was also a lonely orphan from birth and hated by the village. I bet he would have loved to spend time with a clone of Minato
Fuck I hate Boruto

And maybe it does.
But I suppose the next level is not thinking anything of it when most or all of a song is in Engrish.

I'd always assumed contempt for the fanbase.

I was gonna say that he’s not that bad an antagonist to get a death like that
And then I remembered that no, he’s sent a bunch of people to their deaths, over the course of several years, with a smile on his face.
but dude has actively participating in getting people killed
granted it seems like... nearly everyone in HxH is pretty happy to murder, so
That's the point of the show - a world that would birth the Hunter Organization is going to be incredibly fucked up.
The captains getting to cut loose in hueco mundo is good
The fullbringer arc was mega dumb and 1000 year blood war was a mixed bag and kinda nothing happening with urahara sucked
Tonpa is small potatoes compared to who you will meet
dude sucks though
