What am I missing with these "Helvetica Standard" videos? I find them utterly baffling.
That's basically the point, yeah. "Helvitica Standard" was a recurring segment in the comedy anime Nichijou that featured random, outlandish gag sequences that were completely disconnected from the rest of the show and also never explained.
People are just adapting the jingle + text overlay from the show to videos that feel like they might be a Helvitica Standard sequence (with some working a lot better than others imo)
Man, I'm really glad to learn this. I accidentally watched a really good one the first time these cropped up, and I have been so confused about the uneven output ever since.
Nichijou is a very good show. It is wholesome comedy.

Man, I remember the trailer for The Crossing and have over the years repeatedly failed to remember enough of the game to find it again. It was the reason I was very confused when companies started throwing "crossplayer" around, it just made me go "...what, like that game from year ago?".
I would kill to know the name of the publisher that was stringing them along for that one.
