Akira being in is super sick, but man that roadmap shows that the decision to keep sfv going was a recent one. Can't wait to see how she plays a year from now.
I hope we get to learn what Dan's been up to, but I also kind of hope the answer is "literally nothing, since his only two students haven't been around lately"
Max pointed all of this in his stream, but what you have in today's announcement is:
Return of fan favorites. I'm assuming. I'd be lying if I said I'm a big SF guy.
Capcom actually acknowledging Rival Schools beyond slapping some characters in bikinis into a background. And their character choice is dope.
Devs who are actually working on the game talking about it and communicating with the fans. Also, providing a real roadmap similar to what they do with Monster Hunter.

Capcom redemption arc?
i mean sort of... but it doesn't really excuse what has been going on preceding all of this
and they still have a ways to go... the devs comments are pretty scripted and unremarkable. to me the standard is Jeff Kaplan, his developer update videos are really sincere and he's not afraid to really dig into why certain things are the way they are, why they designed a certain character a certain way...
it's like he's giving you a report on a meeting he was in because you missed the meeting, and he wants you to be part of the decision making
the capcom equivalent just sounds like marketing copy they decided to let the producer read because they already fired everyone else who could
for some reason tekken went from the best game ever with staggering community growth and a legendary community to being a haven for bitter fuckwits who do nothing but bitch and moan
so the 'best game in the fgc' crown is currently up for grabs I guess. might as well go to the sfv crowd, they've eaten enough shit for the last couple years

I mean I never hated SFV to begin with but I agree the launch was terrible and it took the game like 2-3 years to be where it should have.
That said Capcom has been doing well for the last few years so I'm not that worried and they got that Monster Hunter money now.

TBH it feels like most communities are more people bitching than actually playing these days.
I kind of hope rollback improves that cause right now its just top players/content creators whining endlessly and their followers parroting everything they say without a second thought.

Like with Tekken...folks are still complaining about Leroy and I mean he got nerfed down to a reasonable place like 3 months after release.
And most people already agree he's okay now just easy to play and strong.
And there aren't even any big tournaments going on right now.
I think that's the issue, no one can really play offline like they used to, online is what it is, and the most recent memory of competitive Tekken is Leroy and Fauk being stupid busted, so people are more geared towards whining that usual.
It has gotten pretty awful though, like suddenly all the "Tekken 7 is being ruined by that evil MURRAY!!!!" voices are getting amped up and no one has the energy to tell them to fuck off
tbh the mere revelation that there even might be an SF6 is positive news
at a certain point it felt like it was headed for oblivion, and had it not been for literally every single other division of Capcom just crushing it and setting records and giving the company the best years ever in its history... SF might in fact have been finished.
Ono deserves credit for SF4, and he had credit and a long leash, but the sum total of his track record speaks for itself. Is it all personally his fault? Probably not, but he had a hand to play and I don't think it was played anywhere close to decently.

Yeah. I liked Ono well enough but he could be pretty tone deaf at times so I don't mind a new direction.

I view it as good news that the game got delayed so they don’t put out a banana hair bad product.

Final character to be revealed at some later point.
LOL THIS TIMELINE
Interesting thing to note.
Apparently there is a new system mechanic coming with the December balance patch.

Welcome home, Dan Hibiki, we missed you
That light flying knee...
The fireball looks like a joke move.
I wonder if Sakura will get a Hinata outfit or Akira.

I don't think Dan can ever really be top tier by design, but I'm hoping that they keep his kick pressure
Also super taunt xx u2
then I checked the news

I'm watching Top 8 from CEO 2016, this is a hoot. First set is an Arbiter and a Jago. That's a really cool Arbiter moveset

Before we start Dusk Golem is a legit source who’s been verified at Resetera also been very consistent about Resident Evil stuff

Just make CvS3 but make it all Capcom
Good news! Ono already made that game
Bad news, it's Capcom Fighting Evolution
