The Whoops: I have no fucking clue which website I used this password on and it's driving me a little batty
My memory for when those emails were going around 100 years ago (aka may) is that they were likely hacks from very ancient insecure sites. My father got one which id'd a password he only used for conference registration sites, for example
yeah there's easily accessible big dumps of compromised passwords+associated emails from breaches 5-10 years ago floating around the internet, people write bots to spider over these databases and send out spam to those addresses with their old password and a story about how they hacked YOU SPECIFICALLY JUST NOW UH OH SEND BITCOIN OR ELSE

Up until MGS3 every Metal Gear game was a clear remake of the one before it with various improvements. MGS and Even more so MGS2 make that explicitly part of the theme of the work.

It was genuinely heartwarming hearing Rob and Gita gush for like 5min straight about how great Cado is in the latest Waypoint.
Like, Gita is pretty good with uplifting others in general, but having Rob of all people just straight up be all like YO HANG ON A SEC, CAN I JUST TELL YOU ALL HOW MUCH CADO RULES was really lovely.
