Three Dutch hackers broke into Donald Trump’s Twitter account shortly before he became president in 2016 by guessing his password was ‘yourefired’, magazine Vrij Nederland reported this week.
The hackers, named as Edwin, Mattijs and Victor by the magazine, used a leaked list of LinkedIn accounts from 2012 to target Trump, then a presidential candidate and then warn him in an email that they had broken in.
When I was waiting in line to vote the people in front of me were talking about Q-anon stuff and its way weirder hearing people talk about that shit in person when you can gear the conviction in their voice.

Not to diminish Trump's dumbassery, but you'd figure that Twitter, knowing they are shepherd for the account of arguably the most powerful person in the world and who is notoriously volatile, would like, send an email or something when they detect a new login.

I doubt Trump pays much attention to his email alerts.
Could the Dems in the Senate actually do anything to stop the Republicans from placing Barrett on the Court?
They could've tried another impeachment a while earlier, but as it goes.
what would that do? Assuming it went through the House again, couldn't Mitch just put the trial/vote whenever it suited him, i.e. after the confirmation?

Not just email alerts, but email authorization. Many services will require you to check your email and authorize if you're initiating a new login session even if you didn't explicitly setup MFA. I would assume this is like the most bottom-of-the-barrel minimum effort for the account for the fucking President of the United States, and kinda baffled that my Twitch account account seemingly has more thorough security.
(Of course, your email could very well likely have the same password anyway, so you know...)
Assuming this all checks out anyway.

Apparently it is law that any impeachment proceedings have to be fully taken care of before a number of other actions can be undertaken, supreme court nominations included.
In theory, it was a surefire option to stall it until they could undo it. My bet is that there was a collective fear of doing so, in that it would seem petty to folks who aren't privy to how shitty the Republicans are being.
Yeah I'd be willing to let those fartsniffing shitheads be petty if it meant keeping a fundy prolife anti-LGBTQA+ off the SCOTUS for potentially half a fucking century.

mitch could hold an up down vote on impeachment 10 minutes after the house finished if he wanted.
the only actual rule in the senate is that the majority makes the rules.
There's not. My understanding is that while impeachment hearings have to go forward, there's time each day before and after hearings that things could be done, and while there's other procedural bullshit that can be done (some of which they have done), there's literally nothing that can prevent the majority from rewriting the rules however they want to force a vote through.
Right now the thing that is pissing me off is any news source who says she made it out of committee unanimously when Dems did one of said procedural bullshits and didn't show up and Reps just had a vote anyway.
It's kind of incredible how Reps will steamroll right over any procedural rules they feel like and say the exact opposite of the thing they said even a week beforehand and the media just never makes a big deal out of it.

Twitter definitely has email alerts for new logins (I get them all the time from a business account I share) but I think you have to actually sign-up for two-factor? Which makes sense that Trump would not have because it’d slow him down from being able to vomit on the internet at-will.

Why would you charge your phone after going out to get McDonald's? You charge it overnight, that way it's ready to go when you are. Man, what a silly mistake to put on your otherwise scientific and peer-reviewed paper.

I guess the House could have impeached Trump again, but there's no way any of the GOP senators would have voted for it this time either
I honestly wish they'd do something extreme, like chain themselves to the Senate doors or something
It's already an illegitimate process
