no no, the guy at the very end watching from the ridge
That was Temuera Morrison, all bald and scarred up
Fett is the most likely candidate. I did have a thought though. What if he’s Rex? If the Mysterious Sasha Banks from the trailer is Sabine Wren, they could be working together to track our Mando for reasons.

I've thought this too, but showing a scarred up Temuera Morrison hanging out on Tatooine after a whole episode talking about Fett's salvaged armor and having it NOT be Fett would be stretching the fake-out a bit too far, I feel
Also Rex having that beard is almost too iconic at this point
When I saw the Banthas loaded with bombs I thought using one as bait and blowing up the thing from the inside was the obvious option. I suppose it being the latch ditch effort makes everything more dramatic.

I really wanted Olyphant to go into full drawl with his "i cannot believe the stupid shit i have to put up with" Rayland voice
Though "I guess even the two suns will shine on a womprats tail" was the perfect kind of homespun idiom bullshit that I love from this stuff

God dammit Dewey why are you trying to sell spice to the God damned Imperial remnants?

I love love love the commitment to just being an adventure show with minimal bits and pieces to a overarching plot. It is so goddamn refreshing for a one and done adventure
Also the this continues to be just the biggest budget star wars rpg adventure ever
So many little bits and pieces in there that just scream the production crew knows what the hell they're doing and having an excellent time with it.
The Pod engine speederbike, the armor, the Krayt pearl, just enough nods to remember you're on a planet with serious fan history, but also just different to be fun and fit the series tone on it's own. Like, remove the fan service and the story stands up perfectly fine still.

Episode 1 Season 2 Mando Major spoilers. Do not read if you haven’t seen it.
I’ve always been a, Boba is dead in the Sarlaac, person but seeing this episode I am totally good with the new status quo. In the back of my head when they first say Tatooine I thought, Boba? And then when the helmet came down on the table with that huge dent I had a big old grin on my face.

I’m happy with it but I’m a massive fanboy so my take is heavily skewed.

Two things in chapter 9 of Mandalorian seem almost built to have a "oh COME ON" reaction, followed immediately by the realization that the entire premise of the episode is built around setting up this possibility.
How did Din survive being swallowed? COME ON--oh wait, the very presence of Boba Fett's armor makes it clear that beskar is up to the challenge of surviving in a creature's stomach, even for a prolonged period of time.
How is Boba Fett still alive? COME ON--oh wait, if his armor survived, and if Din Djarrin survived, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Considering Jabba says it takes 1,000 years to digest someone I never really got the impression he was all that pressed for time.

This honestly might be my favorite episode yet. The music was phenomenal, the town and the landscapes were beautiful, the red eyed things st the beginning were neat,
I’m a sucker for pit droids, seeing a piece of Anakin’s (or a similar) pod racer was such a cool detail, I loved the way the dragon moved under the sand, Olyphant ruled
I was never quite as passionate about practical effects before this show, but it makes such a strong case for them. I’m thinking particularly of the raiders and the banthas

Especially since, in the Legends EU,
Sarlaccs were these mysterious cthulhu-esque beings that had weird psychic powers and digested their food--and kept it alive the whole time--so slowly because they liked to feel its pain, and also it was said they could travel through space and infest worlds, kinda like the Old Gods in World of Warcraft.
This episode seemed to be Filoni putting his foot down that "no, it's just an animal, and also the krayt dragon is king shit of fuck mountain for Tatooine's wildlife."

I am well aware of that canon, and while it was cool when I was 13 it is immensely dumb now that I reflect upon it.

As a result of playing a lot of SWTOR during the lockdown, I've done a lot of delving into parts of the lore I'd never encountered and... yeah. Not even counting the stuff that was made explicitly for actual children, like the old Droids and Ewoks cartoons, a ton of it is silly and pulpy as all get out. For every thing that I'd call well or even decently written, at the YA level or above, there's ten things that are just dumb. Even parts of Clone Wars or Rebels are like "... we don't talk about this."
@SaraLuna your take is not good. I left the start warps thread because of all the dorks trying to tell me I was wrong about
who was in the armor at the end of the tattooine episode in season1
I was right all along and I will never let y'all live it down.
Boba fucking rules. He's the only character to have out smarted and track down the heroes in the OT. They never lose otherwise. That's why I have his armor. That's why I read all his books. That's why he's super cool. Feel free to disagree, but be open to a character being something else besides a point of emotional distress.

Except the end of Jedi has the main characters walking into a trap the Emperor setup that is only foiled by the ewoks.
Fett isn't even the coolest of the bounty hunters. Zuckus is there.

Selling crank to nazis is distasteful but extremely profitable and it's not like you're doing them any favours
