At the risk of getting too Politics Thread-y, it's really not surprising when you see queer folk like us drifting away from and distrusting the Democrats when people like Manchin can be there without consequence. It's hard to feel like a table you can break bread at.

I’m fairly satisfied with my voice is these days but I think I still need a speech therapist since it feels like I’m straining it all the time and it’s hard to speak at a volume that everyone can hear easily
and the lady who runs the weekly queer board games group im part of was on the trans pride float, and invited a few of us to the float afters party
and it was amazing
i got to hang out w two peeps from the boardgame group before we headed in, and it was real cool to become better friends w trans ladies who are my age, and they also gave me some really helpful pointers for fixing the nail polish that i really fucking beefed. We didn't actually go to the parade, bc it had been moved into a stadium bc covid, and they'd also been to the pre-parade protest about how pro-corporate and pro-cop mardi gras was
but yeah, it was real nice to just hang out and meet folks and talk and party and get really drunk

I wish the senate didn't function the way it does. 30% of the population holds 70% of the senate seats so regressive minority views can thrive there

Manchin represents West Virginia, so he will always take the opportunity to water down shit so he can save face. He’s a bit of a worm, such as when he eagerly announced his intent to vote to confirm our Rapist Justice the moment Republican had enough votes. Dude is a coward.

He’s there without consequence because the system is completely broken, and even something like eliminating FPTP voting might relieve us from this perpetual cycle of either voting for disinterested corporate puppets, or gambling your rights on letting the blood-gargling sociopaths take over in the hopes we can primary someone with a spine and basic human decency.
It’s too late to do anything lest he finally go mask off and destroy the fragile majority we have. They had four goddamn years to get their shit together, and this is what we got. Manchin trying to sink the pandemic relief because it isn’t transphobic enough.
I got a new phone recently. My first smartphone. It took me like a day before I realized I have access to gender swapping type apps now. I think the last time I was *that* excited was six years old on Christmas morning cuz that's what it felt like.
I didn't think I was still capable of feeling giddy.

The onboarding software for my new job has a required section for including your pronouns in your profile, and the HR section where you choose your gender identity includes options for Non-Binary and Other in addition to Male and Female.
I presented male while doing my job search and I haven't changed my name legally or anything, so I'm using male pronouns and such at my job for now, but that's very encouraging to see as I think about the possibility of coming out at my new job sometime over the next year.
I've taken advantage of COVID to let my hair grow longer than it's ever been and it makes me very happy seeing it in the mirror (when it's not being too greasy). It still needs to be cleaned-up and I am paralyzed thinking of what my next step is for picking out a barber/stylist that'll understand what I am hoping to tighten it up into. I want to present a lot more queer than I ever have. Now that I've found my comfort zone in my masculinity it's time to soften it up.
I've never put much thought into changing my hairstyle before and I do not know what to do or search for.
It's fun feeling my heart beat while making eyes at myself in the camera/mirror though!
I like the swoop. I feel like I wanna shape that part a little so it's less messy but retains its volume. Mainly I need to remove the chaff from the sides and the back but I worry about scalping it too short. My hair gets really thick especially around my ears and neck area.
I'm probably looking for a fade there I guess.
I don't have the vocabulary to describe it in any way that makes me feel safe giving direction to another person.
Transphobe and massive wanker Graham Linehan was speaking at parliament the other day (he was invited to join a discussion about freedoms of expression or some other bollocks).
He revealed that due to his obsession with being a transphobe his wife left him, his finances are ruined and he can't get any work.
Lol.

Nice to know that even the UK can only shelter and coddle their transphobes so far. May all 'phobes suffer similar sweet, sweet consequences for their actions and more.

Lol.
He claims his wife left him due to “financial uncertainty” which, given his wealth, is pretty laughable and seems like he’s trying to paint his wife as being some petty person instead of just being sick of his obsession with trans people. Linehan treating women like shit? Why, I NEVER.

well there's also the fact that he was definitely using twitter and that weird messageboard for transphobes to try and fuck around on his wife

I saw he joined a dating app for queer women or something?
Yeah I can't find the pic that was going around on Twitter but he did this really lame/offensive thing a while ago by using a bunch of Hair and Make-up apps/filters to make himself look like his idea/conceit of the ultimate 'predatory' Trans* person/dating profile to try and prove his very bigoted point. *Sigh.*
We really shouldn't be talking about him, IMO. His bigotry thrives on attention. He doesn't deserve the oxygen expenditure, TBH.
I think it was more like within the last 6 months but I can't remember exactly

It was shortly after I requested a name change and came out and put all this stuff in my description on the left, so sometime after July 4th 2020.
Unfortunately it doesn't show up anywhere but your profile if people click through, so I'm keeping them in my description. I think Tube mentioned it was a limitation of the forum software.
Yeah if more people knew about it that’d be good. If I need to refer to someone, I’ll just check their profile page to see if they’ve listen their pronouns. I personally think it’s not that big of an imposition
E: not trying to imply it wouldn’t be great to have it visible under your avatar on your posts though!

Clearly I don't know how time works.
Alternate answer: My "or so" totally covers nine months ago! I totally can determine the passage of time!

No, it's there at the bottom left if I open your profile. At least on desktop.

Oh sorry, yeah that's what I mean, you have to open someone's profile to see them instead of them being visible along with your posts, like your avatar and description.
I'm very happy they put it in there! I just also want to put it in my description so I don't get misgendered by people who haven't clicked through to the profile (which is most people I suspect).
Though maybe once I've had this screenname and avatar for a year or so I can at least get rid of the 'formerly' part of my description.

2020 was basically the ending of FF8 for my perception of time. It has all merged together. Only Ultemecia's palace of nightmares remains, surrounded by the screaming debris of a great temporal schism. :P

I just answered Bi, even though now I'm post-op I have all the libido of a beach pebble, so I guess that makes me asexual? I dunno.
