The crew learning that Starbuck was secretly a dinosaur for three seasons would have made about as much sense as what happened but been much more entertaining.
Depends on where you stopped. There was some good stuff but they had no plan going in and wrote themselves into a corner in my opinion.
I stopped around.....
they just reached a planet and we being overlorded by Cylons or something? It was such a drastic shift in the series and I just kinda didn't keep going.....

Oh no that's cool! I'm mostly impressed at how deep the layers go. Where like, it went in strange directions just to get to the premise of you telling me how weird it got

I think the issue happened when they had a human go on the basestar but they weren't ready to reveal the last five cylons so they had to be hidden from the normal cylons so the final five were created.
The New Caprica segment is worth watching through and I think the whole season after that is great. Mostly. Even parts of season 4 are great.
