So between statements on the podcasts and twitter, it doesn't seem that there's any bad blood between the various crews, so that's good at least.
I am almost frightened to ask what could possibly be going on with Red Ventures to scare off two different managers at Giant Bomb, to the point where they both nearly break out in tears at the thought of the stress they were dragging home.

I dunno if it was specifically Red Ventures as much as time taking its toll and all the change happening. Though idk what's up behind the scenes.

Danny O'dwyer also dipped out suddenly. idk
It sounded like it was other things going on in his life, in that particular case.

I was assuming he was only there temporarily as a favour to old buddies until they bounced back, since he has his own gig.
Dan streamed last night and went OFF on the WWE. Sounds like he was not a big fan of working there at.all.
edit: watching it now it's less that he hated it but more so that it was incredibly oppressive.
I have a friend who worked there as well, under Creative/Stephanie McMahon and he says much the same. She was basically a tyrant and if anyone displeased her, they were immediately fired. Everyone there basically worked under intense fear.
Which is a really great way to run a creative enterprise. You definitely want a creative team that's afraid to actually give any ideas lest they incur the wrath.

Yeah I read a summary thread of it and it basically broke down to.
-Talent was awesome to work with (except Hogan, fuck that guy)
-They were constantly coming up with fun ideas to do, but they’d get submitted and either ignored or forgotten about and nothing would happen.
-upper management (he insinuated heavily McMahon himself) were a pain
-They recorded some really awesome stuff that is just sitting in a box somewhere unreleased and he’s not sure if it ever will
-Doing his side streaming project was basically the only thing keeping him going creatively.

There are horror stories of writers being accused of being "marks" because they actually like wrestling (which is why they might have tried to get a job there in the first place).
A writer who joined the staff suggested a story Bible like every other TV show has in order to keep the storylines and characters straight, and was laughed out of the room.
They're old friends and long time coworkers? People on GB mention their friends, family members and people outside of the GB umbrella all the time, you don't need to be newsworthy to be referenced.
I didn't even realize there was some sort of in person trade show this year filling the E3 space
With Gerstmann being very, VERY adamant that he would not attend such events until his children could be vaccinated from COVID, I wonder if it had anything to do with the timing of it all.
I didn't stick around for Jeff's full live podcast on Tuesday, but I just noticed that it's 3 hours?! That is a lot of solo Jeff! I kinda hope it isn't that long every week.

A major chunk of that was just responding to emails. Dunno if he'll go that length every time, might've just wanted to spend some extra time responding to questions since it was the first show and everything was pretty sudden. Tho who knows, might just be used to a 3 hour podcast after how many years and naturally goes for that.
Also, Grubb doing his streaming from a complete bare and empty building is hilarious. Looks like he's streaming from the Backrooms or something.

Dan learning where fruits and vegetables (and peanuts) actually grow from is giving me all kinds of nostalgia I didn't realise I had for this incredible bullshit
From the Summer Game Fest video (watching a Call of Duty trailer with a molotov cocktail throw):
Jess: "You know how you're not supposed to put water on like a grease fire or an oil fire? Is there like any molotov equivalent of like an oily . . ."
Dan: "Gasoline would be bad."
Jason: "That's what they put in . . . oh my god."
Jess: "What did you think was in there?"
Dan: "Just fire juice, I don't know."
Followed by Grub saying that he is really glad Dan is back at Giant Bomb.

As much as Dan drove me absolutely crazy, he is probably just the shot in the arm GB needs right now.

I haven't had a chance to listen to or watch much of anything lately, but goddamn if that "fire juice" comment isn't cracking me the hell up. Glad he's back.

Also, whenever he says something utterly insane or completely idiot boneheaded, I remind myself that Jeremiah exists.

I eagerly await Bak 2 Skool Season 2, the eventual Mario Party Party reboot, and whatever other crazy ideas opportunity, budget, and that unique mind allow Dan to create.
He just can't be allowed to attempt that challenge of eating 40 pounds of cheese in a day like he threatens to.

I’ve wondered why up til now it’s like they never acknowledged Nextlander. I had been guessing it was a RV policy.
It’s not like they didn’t acknowledge each other on their personal channels.
Have they mentioned Waypoint or Fire Escape Cast or anything else in that vein?

WWE is so self hating.

Certainly Waypoint
Certainly?
It's three dudes playing old games on Twitch and shrugging their way through the gaming news once a week, they ain't exactly breaking news over there.
Isn't that exactly the definition of GB too?
E3 streams in person lets goooooooooo

I will never delete that episode of the Beastcast because every now and then I need a good laugh and Jeremiah never fails.

If there's one thing Dan is better at than nonsense content, it's backing out of bets he made.
No more Jeff G to keep him humble at Blitz anymore, either.
