I'm trying to remember... I know the stat boosters all have places where you can get unlimited... I feel like I saw one for levels to... hmmm. Is sujimon a limited amount?
Also does the walking vendor that sells random boosters ever sell the level cans? I haven't bothered trying to farm them yet so I don't know.

I’ll have to check around some more.
Getting to the point where I probably should just go fight
Yeah I'm ahead of the curve too, it made a recent part really funny where I could just quick kill a stretch of story mode.
I will say that xp scales a lot. Unless you have a clear goal, only dungeon if you think you really need it.
The start of chapter 9 had trash fights in free roam that were 5k/5k and took 5 seconds (because I was overlevelled, but those enemies were easier than the same xp in the dungeon)
I shouldn't have done 5-10 buuuut I was a little shy of getting everyone the abnormal jackets at the mall, so I thought, why not, the money is decent, and it just kinda snowballed. Every single story battle after I've pretty much gotten 2 turns in and ended the fight before the enemies can hit their turn. It's great!
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!

All of you being so far ahead of me (still in Chapter 4! Just got out of the mall!) is tweaking my brain something fierce. So much tantalizing promise of what's to come, and it's forever on the horizon if only I'd stop getting distracted by all this damn game in this here game
Once the bucket list unlocked and I got Saeko in my party, I’ve pretty much been just doing the reminiscing stuff. It’s incredibly fun to see all the shit they pull out for Kiryu.
I was really iffy on them bringing back Kiryu, but chapter 8 shut me the fuck up
Same!
It helps that a lot of chapter 8 is the game calling out Kiryu for sacrificing himself so much and acting like he has no regrets when he’s ignoring them so hard.
Like the fucking scene at the graveyard where he talks about how he thought he would be the first to go and instead he’s the only one of his original family still alive.
Or when he expresses his emotions about hearing Taichi’s voice again and how proud he is of Taichi.

There's a sound effect in Hawaii that goes off every 2 minutes or so. I assume it's an animal noise. Maybe it's a common bird call. Sounds vaguely like a cat in the distance. It's low and in the background but it pops through to me every time now and is kind of driving me a little mad.
But minor annoyance. Finished the main plots of Dondoko and the Sujimon Tournaments. But there's oviously a lot more I could do for both still. But finally gonna progress the plot along a bit. Glad I finally noticed there's a level suggestion next to side stories in the Tasks list. I knew I should probably hold off on doing the next leg of the MMA fighter sidestory based on how tough the prior one was.
There was also a drink link that I was underleveled for. But got through it with a lot of heals, baseballs and a finishing basketball.

If you’re ever going for the platinum
When you see it raining go to the beach and be prepared to photograph a rainbow.
You don’t want to be me stuck just standing there for an hour waiting for rain.

Unlocked Dondoko Island. Went from being poor to having 100s of thousands.
Unlocked Dondoko Island. Went from being poor to having 100s of thousands.
Then you buy like 2 pieces of gear and you're broke again.
Dondoko island is definitely a good way to make money, but it's not the free Print Money button that 7's business game was.
Which is probably for the best, really.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
Hmm I think I might mainline the story, I'm on chapter 11 now. I still see myself doing the bucket list stuff for Kiryu and the social drinks, but I'm not sure if I'm feeling doing every side thing.
Which is usually where I end up with a Yakuza/Like a Dragon game.
I will generally play as much as it takes to fight and beat Amon
I platinumed Y0 because it is one of my favorite games of all time and I wanted to see what it was like to platinum a Yakuza. I really liked the experience, but have had neither the time nor inclination to do so for others
Edit nobody cares about: wait, I did get the Gaiden plat, but that one wasn't crazy

I'm making my way through Kiwami 2, almost done with chapter 11. I did Amon in 0 but skipped it in K1, might do it here because I only have 4 or 5 substories left (finish cabaret club and do the chapter 13 stories I haven't unlocked yet)
Glad I dont have to grind out Colosseum points or do the Gravure studio. Also I looked up the Bouncer missions, saw I had like 40 to go, and got the fuck out lol

Speaking of... is Amon available in normal play for this one?
I hate how sometimes it's post game but others it's available just end game.

I will say this
Getting the platinum in Infinite Wealth was WAY easier than Like a Dragon.
To get the plat in Like a Dragon you need to max out levels and job levels and have all of the best equipment…and you STILL might not beat the last boss.
The only Yakuza game I've gotten the platinum trophy in is Gaiden. Which is definitely the easiest platinum in the series.
There's a couple of games where it came down to how much I really wanted to learn Mahjong (not that much, it turns out). Also, my old fingers just aren't quick enough to consistently get good scores in karaoke anymore.
The dungeons are where you go if you want to print money.
You weren't kidding. Went through level 2 of the Hawaii dungeon this morning before work and came out with 400k+ or something about there. Guessing the final level is just "here is all the money in the state"
Pro-tip: make sure you always have a few keys on hand before going into a story dungeon.
They seem to all have a handful of safes and you can't return to them.
This tip is for Infinite Wealth or for Yakuza: Like a Dragon as well?
Because I'm up to Chapter 3 of Like a Dragon, and I've only got the one silver safe key and silver safe that you stumble on in the main story, and I'm wondering how you earn them outside of unmissable story beats. (But I also recognize I've probably got at least one more chapter of introducing mechanics before it really lets me loose in the world.)

I ended up having well over 100 keys by the time I finished Infinite Wealth.
They’re not hard to come by

Yea in infinite wealth you get them from each strong enemy and can buy 5 from each pawn shop and some other spots so it's easy to have enough. Unless just mainlining the story but I guess then you probably don't care about opening every chest anyway!
In LAD7 i think only the gold keys get used up and you have to get them from a few specific locations.
I will say I appreciate the difficulty curve in infinite wealth a lot more than in LAD7. That one was fairly easy and then has a brick truck of a boss fight out of nowhere. This one is much more gradual.
Gold keys in LAD can be bought at some lategame supplier IIRC in an unlimited quantity. In Infinite Wealth keys can be bought 5x per pawn shop among other things so it's easy to get a hoard after you clear the initial hump of $100 being a lot.

That is the one of the reasons I am very happy to be able to go directly into Rebirth from this.
I know that feeling all too well and being able to dive directly into a new (hopefully) amazing game should curb that.
You got anything else on the docket to dive into?
on "If I Could Love the One I Love" is demented beyond words. I'm crying.

Does ichi have his own super boss? Seems weird to not have the super boss on the side with the main character...
Both Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground have an end “super boss”
Neither of them are that hard though.
