Looks like another month without Ganyu and Kokomi.

By the time these two roll around again I'll have enough saved to go for their C1 as well and prefarmed enough to just have them instantly hit max level and skills.

    Sweet Shinto Jesus..

Best exit velo I've gotten in Show '23 and '24 with a juiced 90+ rated hitter was like 112mph and round 430 feet.

Showhei is a living cheat code.

I’ve cracked 500ft a few times but I don’t know if I’ve had an exit velo over 115

Nearly all of it wasn't actual rind as such, just dry and old. But if you gots a good big heavy sharp knife and an adequate supply of repressed rage, then you can make that parm dissolvable

NB if you feel like you're running low on the required rage, simply remind yourself that Esso, BP, Standard Oil, et al knew that they were wrecking the biosphere back n the seventies and deliberately and knowingly conducted an agitprop campaign to be allowed to keep making money regardless. And no one involved will ever be punished.

    Enjoy your sauce!

I just read Hummingbird Salamander, and really liked it. It's like a series of panic attacks interspersed with existential dread. Vandermeer often writes protagonists that are detached from the world, but it's a little different this time: the character isn't detached from the world, but she's creating distance between herself and the reader, which is an interesting twist. If you're in the mood for a stressful noir mystery, highly recommend.

Do you think the people who came up with names like that were just having a bad day? I once went to a place called The Valley of Desolation in SA. Which is a very cool name, but thematically inappropriate, it was a nice place.

I've ended up rotating Lumine back onto my aggrevate team. Though this time instead of Dendro, as Electro.

As a battery and with Electro resonance she keeps Keqings burst charged super well, and with Sacrificial Sword I'm throwing her skill out pretty frequently. It's not as good as having Kirara on the team, but the problem with Kirara is she just trivialises everything. Her shield is strong enough, with a fast renewal, that I never even need Barbaras healing.

Keqing and Collei are basically invincible with Kirara. This is fine for when I'm grinding Domains because anything that makes that quicker I'll take, but in the world and story I like to enjoy it so Lumines back and this time she's Electro buddies with Keqing.

I think mostly they were laying it on a bit, yep.
I guess Mt Hopeless is rather bleak, but also it's more of a hillock.

I once hiked something called the Dismal Trail but went backwards and the last leg was like, 3.5 miles at an almost 40-45° incline and then it started pouring rain so it was walking straight up a mountain and the trail turned into a waterfall.

So that was fairly appropriate naming.

I finally sat down and read Dickinson's Exordia

Lots of really interesting ideas and an excellent setting but, overall, strangely limited in scope, offputtingly focused on being tactical mil-fic and really crunchy but obviously gonzo hard sci-fi, and, I think, ultimately self-indulgent

the book implies there is a sequel, and that sequel is implied to be... what I hoped this book would be, which was a more cosmic story about the strange metaphysics and their pseudomystical interface with reality

instead you get to spend a LOT of time reading detailed military comm chatter and fighter jet specs, and, at its best, some very good dives into Kurdish political culture

otoh at one point some vile incarnation of mathematical damnation swoops down at our plucky protagonists and he describes it as "abominating downward," which is very good

With painters you can usually be pretty frank with them, like I had one that was pretty up front that he didn't want to paint my fence along with the house (he said because the former would need a lot more prep to be up to his standard of service kinda thing, although I couldn't see how that could be true myself), so the broken out quote for that was ugly, but more than happy to buy extra paint on his discount so I could do the fence myself after he was done with the rest of the house. For interior painting it isn't that bad to do yourself if you feel like saving some money. Hardest part is taping everything off you don't want painted. I'd do the ceiling first so splashing on the walls get covered with the wall paint afterwards. Doing both is a pit of a pain in making sure the ceiling is dry enough to tape off for the walls without pulling it off when you're done, so use blue paint and a light touch.

Painting walls I enjoy, it's the prep that sucks.

I have a room that needs wallpaper stripped, plastered and the ceiling replaced and I am not looking forward to that.

the passenger carrying upgrade on the back is missing as are the wheelguards and the stirups for the passenger aren't mounted yet either. Makes me wonder why they said the bike was sent to the workshop for assemby before sending it out.

    People paint their fence?

Not split rail but cedar picket fences, yeah. I guess if your fence was locust or teak you wouldn't bother but that sort of outdoor wood is more for unpainted furniture. Treated pine has to dry for a while before you can paint or (outdoor heavy pigment) stain it.

Rogues strength in the cartoons is going to be equivalent to now Captain Marvel. So pretty fucking high. Hulk is on his own tier of course so not that strong. More than strong enough to break a lot of supposedly Hulk proof things. Especially from the outside.

    I've seen complaints
that people are annoyed none of the other three or so people that could've saved him didn't save him, but I don't think it's a plot hole. I think they were all surprised... but also all wanting to the exact same thing.

So even though the stick up Cyclops' ass required him to act aghast, he was really thinking "whew, it already looks like a suicide, we're in the clear". And Kurt may be a priest, but some people just... kinda should die.

Also, the only reason Wolverine didn't do it is because Rogue was there first.

    Technically, I was referring to
her throwing away Cap's shield into a distant snowy mountain rather than dropping Trask,
but yes, that applies in both cases I suppose.

Nah, it was more that I saw last night Embiid got 21 free throws, the Knicks as a whole got 19
