I hate these games that end in a ft competition. We didnt even get a decent shot attempt because he was expecting a foul, i assume. The rest of it was awesome though.
I subbed to NBA League Pass at the beginning of the playoffs and pretty much seen every game so far. One thing that does royally annoy me though - when there is a real loud fan next to the announcers bench. In the Pacers - Bucks game I had to switch to the Pacers broadcast from TNT, because of that. Dude just wouldn't shut up and the commentators mics would pick him up constantly.
Other than that - there were a few great games so far.

The TNT broadcast had a loud fan problem too. Ambient noise has been a big problem on Turner broadcasts this year. The shitty raise-court for the NCAA Men's Championship made an awful racket whenever players were running the floor. If they are going to insist on putting these games in football stadiums so they can sell more tickets, they least they could do is set up the microphones better.
Heh yeah the loud fan is almost as popular as "Pat Bev throwing lots of basketballs at people" -- he was all over the TNT broadcast. I do have to give him some credit for cleverness, such as:
Just the slightest touch of sincerity so that they can't brush it off as total haterade.

I do have to hand it to the Indy fans for being among the best hecklers in all of the NBA. Apparently what prompted Beverly was a fan saying "Cancun on three!" when they were ready to break their huddle, and I'll never forget they incredible "LeBron's gonna trade you!" chant to Brandon Ingram.

It's Wagner too. Okoro got absolutely clobbered on a fast break on one end, no whistle and then immediately on the other end Franz gets a love tap for an and-one. I don't get it.
so like the clippers have to like blow everything up right?
like they can't possibly try to go compete next year with this core again
I am in favor of this, since the Thunder have a pick swap with them next year.
I am less in favor of how stupidly toxic the Luka vs. SGA discourse is about to get, and the prospect of losing at basketball to Kyrie Irving. In all reasonableness, making it to the second round and losing to them is a wildly more successful year than pretty much any OKC fan predicted to begin the season. On the other hand, lame.
Oh I'm not. "Prospect" of losing to him at this point.
They'll probably be favored, but nah I definitely have hope. First round was really encouraging and I think OKC did a lot to prove that they're mature beyond their years. But the Mavs are a step up from the Pelicans, and being an Oklahoma sports fan is a long tale of pain and sadness.
Oklahoma vs. Texas always makes it a bit more personal too! Will feel extra good to win, extra bad to lose.
like kawhi is good but not when he sits most of the season and you have to treat him like glass when he's healthy
he can't be the anchor for your team
Kawhi will be one of the biggest What Ifs in NBA history when all is said and done. He's accomplished so much in such a short period of time, and he's displayed dominance at the highest levels when he's been healthy, including carrying a team to the chip.
So I seem to remember that one of the stated reasons that Kawhi left the Spurs is that he didn't like how they handled his rehab. With his continued history of fragility, was it a massive screwup from the Spurs medical staff that impacted him for the rest of his career, or is it more likely that he is just fragile naturally? It's not like the Raptors or Clippers have done a better job of keeping him on the floor, after all, and I don't recall any other player complaining about the Spurs medical staff.
clippers have zero incentive to blow it up as the pg trade destroyed their future. they don’t own their pick until forever and honestly i’m shocked the nba hasn’t put in rules counting pick swaps the same as traded picks yet just to continue to save owners from themselves.
The word from Kawhi's camp is that it's just a degenerative knee condition.
At the end of the day, the Spurs never actually made him play. So I can't see how they made it worse or anything. They wanted him to play, but he didn't and then was traded. His almost complete unavailability definitely lends a lot of credit to it being an actual degenerative knee condition. The Raptors did let him rest a bit, but they also just seem to have gotten really lucky and gotten more out of him than anyone has been able to since. He did have some relatively healthy years with the Clippers early on (like the bubble year when they lost to the Nuggets).
oof, then it went from out for days to anything before 6 weeks would be lucky. ofc the first time turner is playing good in a phillies jersey he blows out his hamstring lol. cursed city.

I'm just happy that the AL Central is looking competitive as hell, at least after the first month. All teams have shown flashes of brilliance, though also all with obvious flaws (Royals run production. Cleveland defensive efficiency, etc...).
Looking at going to my first KC home games post-pandemic sometime in June.

I should try to catch the guardians when they come play the white sox. it's awkwardly midterm week so I don't super want to plan anything right now. but they won't play here again until september.
Great reffing consistency. Sometimes you can stand in the middle of the court and do multiple DX crotch chops, no problem. Sometimes if you look at at a guy for 1.5 sec after a post move you get a T.
The media are trying way too hard to make Edwards = Jordan happen. Its not happening. He has a much better chance of being Vince Carter than he does Michael Jordan.
It does feel like the winner of this game will take the West. Ant vs Tatum in the finals sure would be a throwback to when tall guards ruled the league.

As it was foretold, Knicks win because they had more Hart.
Other than that - there were a few great games so far.

edit. and got hurt in the process. oof.
It is crazy how favorable their calls are and it's been this way all season.
