It's pretty sad that I saw ShDragon is from Alameda and thought to myself "that's where the nuclear wessels are."
Yeah, I actually live within walking distance of the old Navy base. I biked up there on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks actually. (Can juuust barely see San Fransisco's show, Oakland's is visible somewhat easily from the right spot, and lots and lots and lots and lots of individuals putting on their own 'shows' here and there about the place.)
Edit: Oh, and I'll have my buttons with me too. They just showed up in the mail yesterday, woo.
I'm going to try to make it to this one. I've been dying to have the crupets at the crumpet shop but they were all sold out the couple of times I went there. >:(
There's a few diner style restaurants at Pike Place. I can't imagine that one of them wouldn't offer bacon & eggs.
Also, just a note for the new folks. There is no need to register for this event. Just show up at the corner of 6th & Pike at 9AM Friday the 29th. Bring some money for breakfast and your appetite! :P
And apparently clothes.
Pff. Its Seattle. Clothes are optional, but you have to have an umbrella.
Actually its reccomended you don't even bring an umbrella. You would stick out as a tourist if you bring one.
Real people frolick in the rain, not hide from it under an umbrella
That is correct. People wrongly assume that because it rains often in Seattle, it obviously rains like it does in New York. No. New York rain is like cars hitting your house. Seattle rain is a drizzle.
Besides, even if it does rain, you'll live. I love Seattle because it rains a lot. Its great.
A tip from a Seattle local - Etta's, half a block north of the market, does an *amazing* corned beef hash. It's one of my favourite breakfasts in Seattle.
You really think it'll be raining inside the convention center? :P
just kidding. In reality, it's always good to bring some type of rain-worthy clothing when you visit Seattle. I mean... this city is famous for its rain. Why come unprepared?
Welcome newcomers! This is turning out to be quite the event! There should be a pretty good group! *wonders if he should bring a shepherd's crook to shepherd this nerd herd* ;-)
Okay folks, this'll be my last post since I have to hit the road tomorrow. I hope to see you all on the corner of 6th & Pike @9AM Friday. It looks like it'll be a pretty great group! 8-) We'll probably wait about 5 or 10 minutes, then walk down. Feel free to meet us down at Pike Place if you're running late. See you guys soon!
I'm very excited for the pre-PAX breakfast! Myself and the 4 people I'm going to PAX with are driving up early so we can make it to the breakfast. It sounds like a great time and I look forward to meeting people in a (presumably) smaller setting before the waves of masses overtake the area.
I'm new to this thread and don't have time to dig through it thoroughly at work; are we just figuring out who is going where on the fly once people show up based on the suggested list in the OP? Or are we trying to get a rough count of people for each establishment ahead of time?
i had hope of making it from Vancouver,WA but our ride wouldnt wake the hell up..-.- like we told him to. so here i sit watch the forums hope we might beable to make it up there before 9 if he drive fast..
I did manage to get 14 dollars at the last second, so I will be making my way down to Pike Place Market. 6th and Pike is (to me, cuz im a fattycakes) a long ways away from my destination (not to mention the Convention Center is about 4 or 5 blocks uphill... the horror!). But im going anyways!. See you guys down there.
Jesus I cannot use Mapquest. I kept thinking that the convention center was on like 5th and Ceneca, not 8th and Pike. this makes my venture easier, although I feel kind of stupid now.

No rain, no rainbows.
Anywho, now that i've read that I am more than willing to go to that place. It sounds cheap and filling.
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
Count me in, provided I can even wake up after the dinner and pub-crawl combonation.

I am going to have those crumpets sooner or later, I swear!
Happy breakfasting and see you all in line.
If we don't make 6th and pike we'll be on 5th and pike seeing as were staying at the Hotel Vintage Park on 5th.
So I will be heading Pikeward and PAXward as soon as I get out of the shower and coat my hair in strange substances.
It's way too frigging early to and I've had way too little sleep for thread-reading so where are people going to be?
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
6th and Pike.
9 o'clock. Be there or be late and show up down at the Market.
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
Awesome, thank you. I'll be there in my robe and wizard hat.
You will know me because I will look like I have come to Erase someone.
All hail the Hypno-Spode!
