Does anyone else find it interesting, and perhaps a little bizarre, that the season finale didn't actually feature any of the four main characters? I mean, they were barely in the episode.

They've done that before, I specifically remember the first Butters-centric episode, where his dad is going to gay bathhouses and his mom tries to kill him. The four main guys are in that one very little.
"I'm such a non-conformist, I'm not going to conform with the rest of you. OK I'll do it."

Bart befriends a Muslim boy named Bashir, although Homer suspects his parents of terrorism. He discovers what he thinks to be a terrorist plot to blow up the Springfield Mall and tries to warn the town of the plan. Meanwhile, Lisa gets a "Mypod".[1]
South Park did it! South Park did it! South Park did it!
Seriously. The character in SP was called BAHIR ffs.

Sad to see that the Simpsons is continuing its death spiral. iPod jokes, how topical.

I think they're trying just hard enough not to get canceled.

I hope it turns out to be a 24 parody. That would make llaugh so god damn hard at the Simpsons' fail.
Now that the season's over, what were your favorite episodes?
The only one that I really loved was Major Boobage or whatever it was called. Everything else ranged from middling (super fun time, about last night) to terrible (pandemic episodes).
The one where Cartman and Wendy fight. Pure hilariousness.
Overall a weak season. One classic episode (Major Boobage) and the others were forgettable and largely unfunny after whatever media it was a parody of.
Am I the only one who loved Super Fun Time? Maybe it's just that I was dragged to that sort of shit at least twice a year in elementary school, but I thought it was a great episode that didn't try hard to have a big message or be explicitly topical.
There did seem to be a lot of episodes that revolve around a particular cultural phenomenon that may not be funny in even a year's time (Cloverfield, Indy 4, High School Musical, Twilight, and to some extent Britney Spears)

I don't mean just an episode that centers on a side character, that's fine.
I mean the season finale having a couple of Cartman lines but otherwise centering entirely on Butters and the Goth kids.

South Park has a pretty sizeable cast of characters now, so they can kind of cherry pick them to keep things a bit interesting. All for it.
It says a lot about the series that they can centre it on side characters and have it interesting while the Simpsons can only do it if the family is involved and regardless of what happens it seems forced, unnecessary and stupid.

An Ocean's Eleven spoof? You're about seven years too late fellas.
Why does it have to be recent?
If only they had made a series of sequels to Oceans 11, then the whole thing might have been practically contemporary! Oh, wait, they did. And it wouldn't matter if they hadn't anyway, since Oceans 11 is always well suited to spoof.

Why does it have to be recent?
For a show where most of the humor comes from current events, yeah, it kind of has to be recent.
They could have approached that episode so many different ways, but they went with that.
Not terrible, but it was completely forgettable.
It wasn't an Oceans Eleven Spoof you gibbering retard--its about the disconnect between the perception of presidential elections as a horse-race and what really goes on when the public isn't looking.

And the one with Jimmys erection problem.
That one is rad, they don't reshow that one often enough.

That sounds awful.
I first saw that episode on UPN about a year ago. I don't know how the hell I missed it on Comedy Central.

And the Obama episode, which also was awesome.
Britney's New Look was a good one.

Also, they were calling them crooks in a roundabout way, which is a neat reference to everybody's best buddy:
Yeah that's kindof reaching.
No it doesn't. That's stupid.
