what changed is Perfect Couples got even worse ratings than Community and NBC realized they had nothing else to replace it with.

The most realistic answer is what actually happens in real life some places.

Greendale starts to offer satellite courses for area four year schools - that will open up everyone staying and create new tension in the group as the campus draws lines between the two types of college services they offer. Imagine a four year only rule is imposed in the study rooms for example.

Wait: This show is real time, this is the second season. They should be transferring/graduating this year anyways... so the issue should hit at the start of the next season.

I raised this issue at some point last year and someone pointed out that apparently not all CCs are two year schools, and given things people have said during the series, it sure sounds like this is a 4 year school.

Does anybody know how much of an affect the thursday lineup had on Community's ratings?

Earlier this season before the move to a Thursday lineup there was a interview with Dan Harmon where he was quoted as saying something along the lines of "They can never take away the fact that we got to make two seasons of Community". When I heard that quote I figured that Community was doomed. I wonder what has changed since then.

As always, Community is opening the evening (so they are unsupported by a previous show) and they are going against huge hitters like Big Bang Theory and American Idol and they Still get between 1.8 and 2.2 every Thursday.

Which is about what they can say for 30 Rock (which was already renewed) and Parks and Rec but cannot say for Outsourced or Perfect Couples.

Factor in the difficult time slot and pretty consistent (albeit not amazing) raitings and you have a show that is worth keeping around

Got someone on Facebook telling me Community, Parks and Recreation and The Office are the same show. My face is melting.

I can see comparing P&R with The Office, for obvious reason, but P&C seems to be moving away from the semi-realistic nature of The Office and more and more into absurdity. And Community... is Community.

I don't even know how you can watch those shows. Don't you know what the paper industry is doing to our environment!? Don't even get me started on the government's failure to protect it in the first place! It's disgusting the things they do with our tax money. Not that I've ever paid taxes, I don't give in to The Man.

Um... I find P&R much more realistic of all three shows? Granted the Office has never had a zombie outbreak but it's absurdity at full tilt since maybe season three... Look at this episode of of P&R (The Harvest Fest) it was very realistic right down to the love of the little horse. That's how people really are sometimes, and if you're not from around there you just don't get the fascination with things like little horses sometimes.

It feels like the characters are all becoming more and more absurd and over the top. It's not quite as nutty as Community or 30 Rock, where everyone belongs in an insane asylum, but it's not quite as down to earth where there's one insane douchebag, a douchebag, and a bunch of more or less normal people with a few quirks. Scott Adams probably has the sanest character and even his history and actions border on the insane.

edit: actually, I guess Rashida Jones is the straightman.

Britta was solid this episode. Everything else was meh.

pewpewpewpew and genie bottle song were fantastic. Troy and Abed should be nobodies straight men though. Chang should not be such a heavy focus. And we should not be deprived of Annie.

Probably my least favorite Community episode. Even then, I laughed my ass off a few times. But this week goes to 30 Rock, and its been a while since Community didnt win.
