Since Yaya is busy making a movie and since I suck at this thing usually (I need to see more of movies!), I have decided to run the Oscars Pool this year.

Thanks to Sabre Mau we have this nice list below!

The Ballot
Spoiler:

Prizes

Yes, indeed, I would like to keep up with the traditional prize of offering arts to the Bogey person that guesses the most winners correctly, and I would those arts to be from YOU! Yes, you, even if you can't even draw! If you are willing to draw something for our winner, please say so and I will add you to the list! Please make your volunteer reply separate from your entry!

Wow, this is the thread where I realize I haven't seen a single movie in 2011 that wasn't based on a Marvel comic.

Seriously, is it me, or is it Hollywood? Nothing caught my eye, and I saw those comicbook movies mostly out of a sense that I had to because it was my duty as a geek.

IMO, it's Hollywood this year, at least as far as the noms go. I watch a fuckload of movies and I have only seen The Help and Hugo from the best picture list.

I don't remember if I went out to any movies at all last year and if I did, it's likely my tastes are too simple and pedestrian to see Oscar worthy flicks, but I'm gonna take a stab in the dark at this anyway.

Oh wow ahahaha, apparently there is a huge shitstorm because this is like, the worst reviewed movie that got a Best Picture Nom ever or something. It's too bad, other movies deserved that nom.

I hope Oldman gets his Oscar, he deserves it.

Maybe it's that there wasn't really a big "event" geek movie last year. Thor and Captain America (and Harry Potter kinda, but that was the 8th fucking one of those so fatigue set in) were pretty much it. Compare to previous years, going back: Inception, Star Trek, Dark Knight, 300, Casino Royale, Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2, LOTR, LOTR, LOTR.

I have not seen any of these movies. I don't even go to the movies anymore.

Last flick I saw in the theatre was Elektra. Sadly it did not win any academy awards.
