There was a sequel set on an island that was only translated for Europe and Australia. The same guy behind the first game's LP up there also LPed the sequel's Japanese version.
I loved those really shaky dudes who were in the background of 3, turning those winches
it was just the one guy; Valtiel, who would also occasionally show up to drag Heather away if you died
he's one of the more important characters behind the whole mythology of the games. i think i remember reading he was represented in SH1 by the men in robes scattered throughout the backgrounds? something like that
in bioshock when you walk past all those mannequins and when you turn around they're gone and oh god now they're attacking oh my god they're bleeding OH MY GOD THEY'RE PEOPLE WITH CONCRETE ON TOP UUGHH

Looking for a gameplay video BTW led me to learn about someone or some group apparently trying to make a translation patch. Is that even possible for a Wii game?
nursing a hangover (got drunk with lesbians last night) and rewriting my resume/dicking around on the internet
how ya been butters?
Ok. Working lots and lots but I guess that beats not working at all.
my job just laid off about thirty people and everyone left is concerned the whole place is about to shut down
at the same time, there's only a handful of people now i would call my superiors and i'm getting my own office and if the place somehow does turn things around i'm probably looking at a pretty hefty raise
so i'm torn between giving my two weeks, using up all 100+ hours of my paid leave and leaving, or sticking it out to see what happens

Well Redeemer if you or someone else can find me a copy on the cheap I would absolutely play it

I think you know the right choice is to stick it out at the moment. Everyone's eating their own shit to survive at this point. My work got ultra busy these past two months but part of that was from pushing projects expected next quarter into this one. Business looks good at the moment but next quarter could be fucking dead.
Totally not exaggerating! This is the only enemy you encounter:
They grow breasts or something if you say yes to "I stare at titties" or whatever during the psych evaluation at the start. But their attack patterns stay the same regardless, according to IGN's review

The department store level in Condemned made me jump a couple of times.
The first few levels of Condemned 2 were super fucking creepy.
And then you go all Dragonball Z. I mean what the fuck, really?
Another great example of this is Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit for you Europeans)
For the first half or 2/3rds of the game it does an incredible job of setting up this atmosphere and moody tone and the plot had some mysteries that were really interesting and it was fantastic (I thought)
And then towards the end all that is thrown out for midair energy-blast kung-fu quicktime events

YES
I basically spent that last 1/3 of the game just going "Really? This is the direction you decided to take this game in?
sentient robot computer program things and aliens?
Really?"
Also Condemned is awesome and creepy as hell, though it would make me motion sick if I played for too long. Same with that Call Of Cthlulu game that came out for the original Xbox.

Were there aliens? I remember the sentient AI faction and the shadowy Patriots-esque organization that was somehow employing an immortal Mayan priest to do their dirty work

jacob's ladder is like a huge inspiration to silent hill
The PS3 game (subtitled Blood Curse) is a remake of this PS2 game.

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Yeah, the concept of Silent Hill was that it's a personification of the character's fears. Made it much more interesting than the RE series imo.
No videogame bad guy can quite match the all around fucked-upness of Pyramid Head.

Yes this. Fuck those guys.
Condemned was really good.
Also Bioshock was actually really creepy in the dark by yourself. During the day with people around it is just some game, but man does it get creepy.

I played the first and it was really creepy until you beat the game, the ending took the edge off the antagonist
I never did play the second and it's impossible to find for a reasonable price now
Same. Fatal Frame 2 is one of the scariest games I've ever played, right up there with Silent Hill 1 and 2
It's a new game
And the second one is so great!

two of my friends played this while away at college, heavily under the influence of drugs probably the whole time
they're both still scared shitless of small asian girls

must've been instinctively drawn back because, you know, Silent Hill thread

What about bosses? Are there any?

As for boss fights, that's a good question, I don't know if they'll be in Shattered Memories. No reviews have mentioned it so far. I wonder.
YES

Yeah... was that when the angel statues came alive and shit? Yep, I think that's probably where it went completely off the rails
I much preferred the earlier segments of the game where the stuff you had to do was
You should post more the forum needs it.
fuck you Indigo Prophecy you lied to me
