That town... there's something wrong with that town...
Atmosphere was the most important thing to get right for a Silent Hill film. I was so relieved that they nailed that that I forgave a lot of the rest of the movie.

That's pretty much how I felt. Minus the forgiving, mostly forgetting.
Silent Hill is a movie that I have so many problems with but I just can't help but watch over and over. Fondness for the source material, I guess. But I have to skip

I guess this is more accurate.
I hardly noticed the parts that were bad. Bad acting was pretty faithful to the voice-overs in the games. The bad plot only really came in when they were trying to explain the town, which I could totally understand they felt the need to do what with it being a movie for the masses and all.
'Deemer's right about the bit with the ladders, though. I felt it was totally unnecessary.
Pyramid Head wasn't actually in it, but it was the usual foggy exteriors and interiors covered in rust and blood
With occasionally one of the smaller monsters that were fairly common in like, SH2
There was also sort of an element of those Sanity Effects from Eternal Darkness
They've historically been rather supportive of SH games. I still don't know if I can reconcile the design differences the way they have, but I haven't played it yet. Doesn't mention if there are boss battles, sadly
edit: and I really hope the plot isn't going down the "unreliable narrator" route again, as the bits with the psychiatrist seem to be suggesting. Enough!
I actually don't mind the no-combat thing that much. I think it's an interesting conceit for a survival horror game. It seems modeled after the movie, where Rose really didn't do anything except run, scream, and fall a lot
I still have to go back and finish SH 3. I'm in some building hallway with three doors, one of them leads to a dance studio and if I enter the dance studio I instantly die.
I just can't remember anymore which door is the dance studio because it's been so long since i've played.

Ever seen Brotherhood of the Wolf? That's about all Gans can do right.
And then the movie took a nosedive precisely when it began deviating from the game
I'm no Professor Plot Development, but..
Doesn't help the bad script, but it explains some of it.

because it's a little too much

How come the only fucking dreams I remember these days are the horrific nightmares
That was such a cool movie.

It just got silly when he pulled out that whip/sword/whip

You can't just dangle something like that in front of us and snatch it away.

Basically when I woke up I was a complete wreck

YOU'RE old
Yes, but you have an iPhone now
Fuck that shit. I just went back to watch the review. Why are they even billing this as an SH game anymore?
