I'm worried that the PSN Outage will translate to there be no one playing on PSN when PSN is finally restored. I don't have money to buy a 360 or a new computer.
anyone know how the 'seamless transitions between single-player and multiplayer' work? the videos are sort of nebulous on that point, unless i've missed something

gameplay is based on 8v8 teams working towards objectives
singleplayer, you'll be playing with seven bots, against eight bots
I'm sure you can imagine multiplayer is the same thing with people
presumably friends can jump into your "singleplayer" games with relative ease

I'm not entirely sure how it works. You can do single-player, or co-op or full multi. There is a campaign mode, wherein you play the missions in order; a free play mode wherein you can play whichever map whenever you want; and a stop watch mode wherein the two teams switch sides and try to complete the map faster. All of these different modes occur on the same maps. There is no true seperation between single and multi. single player is basically you and bots against bots. I imagine there is some kind of thing to allow people to join your game. I think I read somehing about bots standing in for people if those people haven't joined yet or quit, but I can't remember where I read it.
There are also challenges, that will teach you different aspects of the game, that can be played solo or co-op, and there are leader boards for those.
the bots were terrible in Black Ops, I hope Brink has better bots than that.
Anyway, here is a thing
Q: In a recent hands-on preview, it was stated that there are no lobbies to search through when looking for games, and instead, you join games by joining friends on your friends list. Is this indeed how it works? Does it apply to both console and PC? Can this feature be disabled? What happens if none of your friends are playing – how do you join a game then?
A: If you want to jump in with your friends, you use your friends list. If you just want to jump into matches, you do a traditional search for servers (using a server browser on PC or matchmaking on the consoles), pick the one you like, and jump in.
That is from Fragworld. Their site is sort of awkward, but there is a ton of info on there.
There is also a Brink wikia if you dare. It is actually pretty well-done, and will get btter as the game gets to people and the speculation disappears.
They aren't the same types of games, Tommy. Would you rather play MK or play Brink? That's like asking "Ok guys, I am either eating a hamburger or eating piece of pizza." Both things are wonderful, but it is comparing apples to oranges, or maybe apples to pears.

I would definitely want to watch someone who is actually pretty good at shooters play this before I would consider buying it. It looks a little boring, but I can't tell if that's because everyone is terrible or if it's the game. Anyone know of any streams or whatever of people who are getting it tonight and are good at shooting dudes?

My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

I think the game could be cool with a lot of movement involved in the combat but I just haven't seen anyone doing that in any of the videos yet, so I don't wanna get it until I've seen that that's actually something that people can and will do.

There were these videos posted earlier in the thread. You may have seen them already I dunno. But they made me think it looks like a heap of fun.

not that I think this pc might not be powerful enough
I just don't have administrator privileges on this thing because it's not my computer
so I might not be able to install the necessary things

Which is a pity, as I was just wondering about playing a light Security dude with pistols and all the "Good Cop" customisation shit
Pretend I was in some sort of buddy cop movie, chasing after suspects WAIT FUCK WHY ARE THERE TEN OF THEM AND WHY DO THEY HAVE GIMP MASKS
Fortunately my buddy, who is also wearing a disturbing mask for some reason, would come to my aid and minigun the horde down
And then the critics would call it the most homoerotic film experience of the decade
Anyway where was I going with this
