    I love that bed

I have a queen-sized HOPEN, it is a fantastic bed.

I don't know what everyone's problem is with IKEA beds, maybe I'm just not having energetic enough sex.

It's more that you can only use ikea branded matresses with them.

That was definitely not the case with my bed. I picked up a fancy Serta mattress from a local mattress shop and it fit the frame just fine. Though if I only had the option of ikea mattresses, I can see where you're coming from. Their couches are also utter shit, even while the rest of their furniture is awesome.

I am currently angry at them, however, for being out of stock of the patio benches I want for the foreseeable future. I could have had the most bitchin' balcony and now I must wait until things come back in stock.

    IKEA is cheap crap.

But it's okay if what you're looking for is cheap crap that is cheap and also very very cheap.

When I plan on moving every 12 months or so for the foreseeable future, I dumped all my nice shit.

I'm not about to start moving solid oak and cherry furniture every year.

I can lose every stick of furniture in my place and I'm out maybe 3 or 4 grand. Had I kept my old shit, I'd be out well, well over that.

i need to make myself a tiny corner office
i am super excited at some point to stick my nose into the ikea website and figure out how exactly to do that, maximizing my corner ... about 25 sq ft, haha. =_=

ikea is actually really decent quality for its price

so quit your complaining. You want antiques made of oak and old-world craftsmanship, then you shell out the 10k for a chair

you want a place to sit
you shell out 100 bucks for something that'll last you 5-10 years

I have, from Ikea - two bookshelves, three cd towers, a coffee table, a TV stand/entertainment center, a desk chair, a desk, a kitchen table, six kitchen chairs, a wine rack, a bed, two night tables, a bedroom dresser and soon a set of patio furniture. The only non-ikea furniture I really have is my couch, and that's because it is the most beautiful couch ever which Ikea did not have.

IKEA's quality is excellent for the price you pay, I don't expect a pair of $89 bookcases to be as high quality as my custom made $400 dollar bookcase. If I was to be super picky I would say that the one thing I wish they would spend more money on is the rollers on their drawers because they never feel all that good.

Plus it's fun piecing all your stuff together by yourself.

Well as a dude, when I first moved out all those years ago I did not think of needing a full length mirror, in the past two and a half months, I have been constantly reminded of the fact that I don't in fact have one.
