Well I know it's not perfect, but it's just so damn fast. I hate having to load up IE or Firefox for something that won't display right in Chrome. It's like browsing through molasses. I haven't even installed Firefox again since I reformatted awhile ago.

So I read the Rock Paper Shotgun play by play and got a huge boner for this game. Extremely tempted to buy this and join on up for some MP action. Sounds alot like Diplomacy, but in Hell.

Get the demo! The buying will come quickly thereafter, but then at least you can say I tried to resist!

But then again, I'm a total consumer whore.

Evil Multifarious and Penetratus have awesome legions. She rest of us are at a bit of a disadvantage.

Seriously. EM has nine ranged, two melee and five infernal, plus its fierce.

Penetratus is hardly worse. 7/5/1 and mountain walk.

And here you and me are with gimpy little things that the others could walk over. D:

Fierce isn't very useful for a legion with 2 Melee.

Now, I'm not complaining, since 9 Ranged is fantastic.

i didn't bid, but i would have had I all the necessary resources. i always seem to be missing one of the types.

honestly the random resource gathering, and the other instances of bizarrely crucial random events, kind of cripple this game for me.

I agree with this to an extent. I feel like certain random events are entirely too powerful to be random.

Like God knocking an entire point or two off of your attributes. Attribute loss is fucking huge, very much potentially crippling.

Still it's a good game overall

I'm pretty sure that isn't a random event. It's a card you can play. There are two versions. One knocks a point off of everyone, one is targeted, but costs the person who plays it 10 prestige.

Edit: Really, there aren't any random events in the game. Someone is responsible for everything that happens to you.

Yeah, I generally hate games that are wicked random (RISK, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, MOTHERFUCKER), or games that have absolutely improbably random outcomes (BATTLETECH HEADSHOTS FROM A 25-TON MECH ON A 100-TON MECH THAT MURDER THE PILOT ON SHOT *ONE,* I'M LOOKIN' AT *YOU,* ASSHOLE), but SI's pretty good. Those events may have a random target, but they're played by a player. And combat resolution has just enough random to it to make it interesting - you never know exactly how it's gonna play out, just in case the level bonus rolls against you. It's frankly, pretty sweet.

(Watch, I say this now and I just got rocked on T4 by it. Just wait.)

Getting tribute is extremely random, and it's a poor decision for something so absolutely vital. The only way to mitigate it is with high Charisma, which is why Charisma is the most important stat, and it doesn't even mitigate it terribly well.

I am particularly mad because I have tons of resources - except ichor.

    I have zero ichor.

Ichor is necessary for every single Legion in the game, and almost every artifact.

There is no way for me to guarantee I will get ichor, absolutely zero.

Yeah but there is almost always some other place to invest resources when you're short on one. In SI you usually have to adjust your strategy to the resources you get, not the other way around.

there is literally nothing i can buy, right now. the only thing i can do is make combat cards, which is very contextual and limited. maybe some rituals.

it's just irritating that i have no control over my economy, when the game is largely resource-driven.

when i said i had "tons of resources" i meant "all i have is souls pretty much."

    the RNG is a dick

If I was short on Ichor, I'd be pumping my deceit and intellect, while demanding more tribute. Either you stop needing ichor or it eventually shows up.

I downloaded the demo. The structure of the game is fairly simple once you get the hang out how it works. However with other Human opponents I can only imagne the level of betrayal and douchebaggery that would make this game awesome as well as add a ridiculous amount of depth.

Count me in for next game!

I for one have realized that a decent rank is important for human games, because without one, your insults and demands are fairly puny and everyone will just accept them and laugh at you sitting there with your beefy legions.
