    Probably my favorite set.

The older I get the more I regret giving my entire collection away to the neighbor's kids.

What is up with that guy bottom left?

Did you guys ever remove the saddle from the horse?

It looked so empty. I wish they had a fill piece for the poor horses.

Yeah they did look a bit weird. Big ol' rectangle chopped out of their middle.

Still better than the anorexic Playmobil horses though.

Hmm I always thought I just got extra pieces.

Though that did happen sometimes. Especially with the "jewel" looking pieces. Loved days like that.

What a silly question. Space. Monorail.

Also, a quick check of bricklink shows it priced much higher.

The lego trains stuff is interesting, but the range is confusing.

Apparently there are three different power systems, only one of which is current. Then there is powered 9V track (which is discontinued), unpowered track, and flexible track, all of which are (fortunately) the same gauge. The only actual train they have for sale is horribly expensive and doesn't come with a motor.

I think they may be in the middle of a range revamp, which is annoying because it means that stuff from eBay is likely to be only semi-compatible with the new stuff.

EDIT: There are spy shots of new stuff, like this: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7939_Cargo_Train

Which looks good, but expensive. I don't think I could swing that with my fiancee

EDIT the second: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7938_TBA is cheaper.

Hell the MSRP for that set was higher then $100, back in 1987!

    BUY IT!

So I'm on eBay (not signed in thank goodness) and see a bunch of LEGO lots.

About how much would I expect from a pound? I see various auctions listed as "10 pounds" "30 pounds" etc.

How/do you guys clean the bricks, water+soup?

I saw someone mention other imitations mixed in with LEGO bricks, does this occur often? I hope that's the only "scam" I'd have to look out for.

Aww man, why did they have to change it?
The new track looks identical to the stuff I have (except mine is powered and has metal on the top of the rails). The old stuff they've been using since the early '90s should work fine with the new track.

Sometimes I had my dudes riding the horse around bareback. Looked kinda weird how they were just standing, hip deep in horseflesh. You could fill in the horse with some 1/3 bricks and a smooth one on top to make it "complete".

As far as I can tell the various track types are compatible, but the different power systems aren't. This basically means that the 9V stuff will be really awkward to use with the new (or old) because you need a complete loop of powered rail.

Say, ordering your models from that Lego Builder site seems to be rather expensive, isn't it? Looks like you have to pay €7 (and similar prices in other currencies) just for shipping, while the actual parts seem to cost about the same (maybe slightly higher) as you'd have to pay normaly. Do the shipping costs go up if I order large models, or a larger number? And are there maybe any cheaper alternatives to get the parts that I need/want?
