Ya know, I gotta say... Tali's voice actor did some amazing work on her Loyalty quest. Normally, you tend to just think of Tali as "Oh, that chick with the middle eastern accent" and go back to praising Jennifer Hale's greatness, but I was really impressed with Tali's lines and delivery on that quest. It was quite moving and completely pulled me in.
I dunno why
the Quarians needed to wear suits inside their own ships though.
You can ask Tali about that later
But if you'd like to know now?
Their immune systems are so compromised from the sterile environments of the ships that they've been on for centuries that they've lost pretty much all their resistance to any bacteria, let alone stuff from other species, and since their immune system was sort of compromised to begin with (their homeworld had a bunch of beneficial diseases somehow so they evolved weak immune systems) they basically can't interact with anything but other quarians and even then only in one-on-one scenarios and they'll still get fevers and be sick for a while before they adapt
This is what you learn from talking to Tali about it anyway, there's probably a whole codex entry on it somewhere

Mordin is actually pretty interesting because he struggles with the necessity of what he did and the morals behind it. He truly believes that creating the second genophage was the correct thing to do, but you can tell he also feels extremely guilty for it.
Basically, when you talk to him, you can get a feel that all the rationalization he does is more for his own benefit than for the benefit of others but he still hasn't found an answer. So he went to spiritualism looking for one.
I think honestly, save for Zaeed, all the loyalty missions were my favorite part of the game. They were all very different and really well presented. I went from being meh on Jacob, Miranda and Jack to really liking their characters. Grunt's was awesome just for the fight. Mordin's, Tali's and
Legion's
though cemented them as my favorite characters.
Also, odd note, but even between last game and this game I feel like Garrus got fewer lines than almost any other recruitable squadmate. I really like the guy but... is it because I played Dude Shep? I know Fem Shep gets more lines with him and Mordin, but is it significantly more?

You're right of course. Considering what he did, trying to find a higher meaning and all seems plausible. Still, I regard such behavior as a weakness for him.
Edit: Wow there are some hard decisions to be made with Mordin!

I would like to pause for a moment, to talk about my penis.
My penis is like a toddler. A toddler—who is a perfectly normal size for his age—on a long road trip to what he thinks is Disney World. My penis is excited because he hasn’t been to Disney World in a long, long time, but remembers a time when he used to go every day. So now the penis toddler is constantly fidgeting, whining “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Now? How about... now?”
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.
Just beat it (paragon femshep). Simply amazing. Might make it my new all time favorite game, depending on how my insane renegade vanguard dude goes.
Suicide mission spoilers.
So, I was wondering how many people you other dudes lost, or even if it's possible to make it out with no casualties. I lost 2 guys, Legion, who I had go as my tech in the vents (though he didn't die there, he died getting shot in the face while closing the doors), and Mordin. I really have no idea how to save Mordin, he just up and died guarding the door while I was fighting the proto reaper. The only guess I can manage is to not have taken Miranda with me so she could help lead my B squad. Everyone was loyal, had all the normandy upgrades, only missing (best as I could tell) the tech and biotic upgrades you buy off of illium, and I have 100% on every uhhh... system? Not sure if any of that made a difference
Also, Zaeed was an awesome choice to escort the dudes back, apparently. No casualties.

You can do it with 0 casualties
to your normandy crew and your elite force, though leaving Mordin to guard a door might not be the best option, send him as escort maybe. Mordin seems to be dying for a lot of people. Did you have all upgrades and everyone at full loyalty?
I had Mordin and Tali with me to face the Reaper because I figured they weren't the soldiers the rest of them were and everyone survived. I sent Thane as escort because hes the stealth man and used Garrus to lead both squads and used Samara for the barrier. Worked fine for me.

No member of my team died! But I also sent Legion into the vents and had Mordin hang back and defend while I fought the man-reaper, so I don't know why
I sent Thane into the vents the first time, and he got shot in the face while the door closed too, but Legion got it goin' because he is a computer man
Easily the best game I've played in a very long time. Just...wow.
My endgame:
Legion was the tech guy, Garrus (a.k.a Space Batman) lead the second team, Thane escorted, Samara held the biotic barrier. They all seemed like the logical choices at the time and from after the first segment on Legion was in my party with a sniper the whole time.
Yeah Mordin was left guarding the door for me too and he didn't die. Not even a scratch.
I'll try taking Mordin with me for the last battle, still not sure what to do about Legion though, besides the obvious answer of don't put him in the vent.

No you can put him in there.
I used Tali, you need computer people for it, if someone isn't loyal then its possible they're dragging their feet and thus Legion gets capped for it so make sure they're all set. I imagine if you've got the right leaders for the team as well they will hold the Collectors back enough so that the tech doesn't get shot.
I saw a video where someone used Thane as the tech guy and he got shot. Surprising. Its not deep tactics but it does involve using the right people for the right job.
I just wish Jack did some more of the stuff Jack does when you find Jack rather than using a gun.
...I do know there are some decisions to be made in the last mission that can obviously affect who lives or dies. Specifically, who goes where and does what. Without spoiling the mission and the end, is it possible to give me some general tips to keep everybody alive? Obviously I have lots of upgrades and will complete all the loyalty missions.

is it crazy to wish that an ME2 backstory creator DLC could be made for the 360? I have 10 completed ME1 playthroughs already, and I don't remember every little detail about them. the summary points don't include all the options the game tracks from game to game, and ME2 runs so much better than ME1, that I'm not sure I want to slog thru additional completionist runs to get all the quests in the appropriate places. (i already did at least 4 completionist runs to get the ally achievements; completed 2 before we knew how to get them all) and that's what i'd like DLC to address.
DLC that would let me select the settings on the tracked quests from ME1 prior to starting ME2. if people are worried about ruining the plots, would it be possible to make the DLC only work after you completed ME2 at least once?
i've seen some people (not here) complain about the lack of stuff carried forward from the old game, but I've already seen small differences between my carried forward playthru, and a friend's playthru with the ME2 default Shepard due to savegame loss. little flavor things that are really interesting and aren't presented as tracked options in the original import screen.

That makes sense. I had Samara lead during that section, and her reports were... strained. I'll have Garrus lead in that section, which makes a lot of sense and I don't know why I didn't think of it, besides the obvious answer of 12 hours of sleep in the last 4 days.
So! I am going on Hardcore after doing Veteran and Infiltrator. I want to be an Adept or a Vanguard.
Can anyone vouch for Vanguards on higher difficulties?
I really want to fulfill the shotgun charging image the previews present but everyone seems to think it's too high risk. I'm great with headshots and I heard the Heavy Charge has quite the slowdown. Vanguards also have the two most interesting biotic abilities from the Adept and with Warp Ammo, you could come up with a very tempting build of all evolved powers and a very appropriate ammo mod.
I honestly don't think I've played anything as close to fleshed out as this. The detail is incredible. Ilium spoilers ahoy! They're hilarious and not story related but still...
I love how Bioware took what fans were saying and shoved it into the game but did it with class, y'know? Go to the Eternity Bar on Ilium and you'll find a Quarian and Turian talking. The quarian is upset that the human she's dating wants to go 'further' but doesn't understand that she can't remove the suit (!) The Turian is sorta consoling her whilst hitting on her at the same time. Its classic fanboy "I want to see Tali without the suit" stuff! Props to Bioware.
Then theres the batchelor party in the corner with a human, salarian and turian. Its the salarians party but he doesn't get why he needs it since they don't get married, they jjust arrange reproduction deals.ventually he loosens up and starts enjoying himself but its hilarious the journey he takes.
Oh and the Asari bartender and her Krogan father...... priceless. I think Ilium might be my most favourite place.
Once again, bravo Bioware, you've outdone yourselves.

What worked for me:
Tali:Tech (I think I had Jack and Miranda with me in my team)
Garrus: Leading both secondary teams as he has the most experience of anyone there even though Miranda doesn't suggest him
Jack or Samara: Biotic barrier, I used Samara I don't know what Jacks like but I figured that Samara had more experience and she worked for me
Thane: I used Thane as the escort, since you're not there I won't say to escort what
I took Mordin and Tali with me to face the finale, seemed to work ok. When I used Samara I think I had Jack and Mordin in my team. I refused the offer to have the team hang back and defend, they will do it anyway but I dont know if that inspires them or not.

None. Tali in the vents, Miranda as the leader of the first squad. Garrus for the diversion squad with Samara doing the biotic bubble. Jacob escorting the crew back to the Normandy. Had Legion and Mordin with me at all times. Didn't tell the remainder to hold the line or whatever the left dialogue option was right before you go fight the Reaper Hybrid.
I found a side-quest while going through Garrus' loyalty mission, but I could use some direction for it.
It's a fake ID. The journal says someone could use it. Where can I go to finish this without me running around like mad trying to find him/her?
There are two asari sitting on couches trying to get passage back to asari space, but they aren't letting them go.
Still haven't found that. Which floor on the Citadel?
