and also they spend most of their time staring at you
trying to kill you with their minds
Yes you can
Scoop one hand under their armpits and pick them up, quickly put a hand on their lower back for support, then snuggle them up to your chest and hold them forever
the whole time the cat's expression is like this is some fucking bullshit
whereas if you hug a dog or pet a dog or look at a dog or possibly cough that sounds like the dog's name they will make an expression like YAAAAAAAAAAAY
Our cats have learned to tolerate being picked up and fussed. They refuse to enjoy it, but that's ok because they are warm and fluffy and their expression of disdain is a small price to pay for going oosaprettyboyooisooisyouareyezyouare while you ruffle his tummy.

Sometimes my cat just silently lies in my arms, barely tolerating the snuggles and cuddles and kisses.
Then my mom walks by, he sees her, and he starts screeeeaming
and my mom is all PUT THAT CAT DOWN WHY WOULD YOU MAKE HIM CRY
that "cat people" are largely introverts who lack patience for general human idiocy, don't want to be bothered a lot, are often as sedentary as possible, and prefer to give and receive affection on their own terms. they don't like dogs because they see them as excitable, high maintenance, loud, aggressive, and childish.
"dog people", conversely, tend to be more extroverted, active, patient with stupid human bullshit, and more openly affectionate towards others in general. they don't like cats because they see cats as snooty, self-absorbed little shits full of claws and hate that don't really care about you.
people get pets that suit their personality, and it is unsurprising when the personality of the pet is similar to the personality of the owner.

seriously though if you can watch that video of the dog flipping out after its owner comes back from afghanistan and not feel something warm in your heart i am pretty sure you are a replicant and should watch out for blade runners
I mean there are companies that do okay without DRM.
The guys who made GalCivII for instance.
Granted GalCivII doesn't have anywhere near the budget AC2 had so it didn't need as many sales to break even.
But then I never demanded game companies depend on 7 digit number budgeted games to survive either.
didn't stardock do galciv?
galciv and another of their products, windowblinds, just destroyed one of my laptops and i suspect it was because of some drm monkey-business.
that or they put some sort of poison into my registry
Stardock actually appears to pride themselves on their slashdot approach to business. I don't know much about their profits, but they usually do good work. No DRM, will actually give you a refund and revoke your license if you don't like the product, I've gotten them to transfer games from one account to another.
Of course their pres is also a bit of libtard but he means well. Elki trolled him once. Was good times.
I wouldn't call it that, but whatever it was, it was 100% his fault.

that tends to be a little different. those pets are this close to being living decoration, as you interact with them very little aside from maintaining them.
pet fish are really functionally identical to house-plants in terms of the psychological value they have to most humans
some people are different, of course, some people absolutely love their fish or parrot or guinea pig as much as any dog owner loves their dog, but that's not an attitude i see that is prevalent.
these are general observations.
i mean rust is a dog person and he's a misanthropic cynic
but just because there are exceptions does not make general observations incorrect.

Actually I have a cat that is very affectionate. She loves petting and will purr and rub her face into you and just generally be the nicest damn thing ever. Even when annoyed she rarely scratches.
Of course she's an inbred to hell and back cat so it's obviously some sort of recessive 'nice' gene long since forgotten by modern cats.

Weird, I'm the second type of person (i.e. extroverted, active, etc) but I'm absolutely a cat person.

the general observations are silly and limited to your observations and nothing else
i've known outgoing cat people and dog people who are one step away from hermits
people like different pets for different reasons, generalizations fail in this instance

again, they're just general observations
people are people and you can never absolutely say "all people are like this"
except all jews being cheap, of course
but aside from that
these are just observations i have made in my interactions with self-identifying "dog people" and "cat people". this isn't even something i apply to all dog or cat owners, just ones that identify as such (and usually have contempt for the other)

i wouldn't go that far
cats can express the whole range of hatred, from "barely concealed disdain" to "omnicidal fury"
do they mean that they are sexually attracted to warhammer? is that the implication?
yeah
it's fascinating how language works

cats are for people who have given up and accepted that no other creatures are ever going to like them anyways
cats are for people who are too emotionally dead to accept the idea of unconditional affection and support from anything around them
Sometimes my cat just silently lies in my arms, barely tolerating the snuggles and cuddles and kisses.

that cup of tea has kept me up all night
naturally decaffeinated my ass
because i love dogs and as everyone knows i am famed for my sunny demeanor and tolerance for all the little faults and peccadillos of people around me
Does it try and rub it's ass in your face?
One of my cats does that constantly. She'll climb on to my laptop and try and posistion her hold right onto my nose.

what about, like, fish or bird or hamster people?
No, there is no sexual implication at all, just a descriptive one.
so you get things like newfags, oldfags, drawfags, writefags, etc. etc.
I wouldn't call it that, but whatever it was, it was 100% his fault.
yes
it sometimes gives me or my girlfriend assface when we sleep
especially when i nap
like i will smell something bad and then a tail will like twitch on my forehead or something
boom assface

artfags
There was a camwhore named artfag once. Great breasts on that girl.
Wonder whatever happened to her.
the general observations are silly and limited to your observations and nothing else
i've known outgoing cat people and dog people who are one step away from hermits

are there any faq fags
But then I think most things [chat] choosing to argue incessantly over are pretty fucking silly.
I'd really like to get a border collie but it would be much better to go down to the shelter and adopt the ugliest dog they have.

variable you are adorable
have i told you lately that you are adorable
because you are
teehee
when cat owners act like dogs are in any way worse I get upset
and then want to shit all over the concept of owning a cat
just like every feud ever
i've said this before but my uncle's got a pit bull that got beaten so bad it went cockeyed and then got hit by a car on top of that
it seems fine physically but if you show it any amount of attention it'll follow you everywhere hoping to be pet
unless you happen to be an adult male over the age of fifty or so, in which case it'll go for your throat as soon as you get in its line of vision
that was probably me at my most adorable pony. I'm just glad you were here.
ah, yes

There are also several respects in which cats are worse than dogs.
Just depends on where your priorities lie.
it is our understanding is that you have been saying insensitive things about people of certain religious persuasions
you understand that we do not support bigotry or hate in this organization don't you?
