I am not sure if it's my internet or what, but here was the scenario:
I have broadband cable internet and I connected to this wirelessly with my laptop. I streamed a movie and displayed it on a large HDTV connected to my laptop by hdmi cable. The quality was extremely poor.

He's using the Wii that's probably part of the issue (or not, I don't think the HD works over browsers yet though either)
And not everything off netflix is gonna come in HD if the source of the video isn't HD. I watched Superman II HD off netflix on the 360 and it looked pretty good, not amazing but good enough.

regardless, my quality over a wireless connection is great and i watch hulu in hd on it. i was just responding to the wireless thing.

God, my family has such bad taste in movies. I just made them watch The Hurt Locker. They pretty much immediately dismiss it because it's a "war movie" and I dunno, they like to fashion themselves to be politically enlightened (liberal, except when it comes to the gays of course!).
My dad: "I don't see how that could've won Best Picture. What was the plot, really?"
My mom: "Ugh, of course they'd make a movie like that win. It was okay, I guess."

members of the ratings board are supposedly parents with children 18 and younger.
all of them have children over twenty.
they are also only supposed to serve for 7 years; all of the ones in the doc have served for over 10.
also, in the ratings appellate court, you are not allowed to cite precedence of other movies
so if your movie is rated nc-17, and you want it to be an R, you are not allowed to bring up other movies that set a precedent that would determine whether or not your movie should be rated 'r'

Yeah, they're pretty awesome. Brett gets a bit too melodramatic at times for me, but he is excellent overall. The show is damn well made.
