    Joining or leaving a game. For me anyway.

    Also, any of you experience the game crashing when trying to join games or clicking NPCs ingame? Like no connection interrupt or anything, just the game freezing, with a popup with the word violation or some such.

    usually it's entering/leaving too many games too quickly

    ie. muling across several characters

    the best way to prevent getting temp banned is to slooow the fuck dooown

    awesome time for a new thread - I started playing Torchlight obsessively every free moment I get and I decided that it's time for me to finally buy the "original" Diablo Clone. D2 Battle Chest on amazon for $20. Woot woot!

    First boxed PC game I've purchased in... 3 years?

    So are we going to have a wave of D2 newbies playing in East Coast thanks to Torchlight's high sales now?

    Also since I'm new, can someone recommend me some good online resources for Diablo? I want to know what forums are the busiest and longest running, most popular, etc. I'm also curious about any kind of guides, especially for multiplayer, since jumping in to a 10 year old game with uber fans like Blizzard's is wee intimidating :P But I also like that complexity.

    Your off to a good start with that first link, the amazon basin: http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/ has been around and going strong since the halcyon days and has a lot of great information on builds, ladder running, gear farming, etc etc

    When should I stop doing NM Baal runs, complete the quest to kill him and advance to Hell?

    Also, when should I do Hell ancients?

    So I'm thinking of also leveling a sorc. They're pretty good for MF, right? What are some really good specs? I've never had a sorc before. :)

    Man, I last played this back in may and just got the itch again. My 60ish Skelliemancer and Javazon both survived the time in cold storage but now they're regular characters. Should I play my Skelliemancer some or should I start a new one on ladder?

    You can enter hell whenever you feel ready for it - if you've been saving gear, or you have a specific build you're following, you can enter when those goals are complete.

    You don't want to level higher than 75ish in nm, then it gets really tedious.

    As for hell ancients, do them whenever you can.

    I MF with pure cold, using Blizzard; I run Pindle, Meph and Ancient Tunnels

    I don't even touch Frozen Orb, Blizzard is powerful enough to reduce anything in Hell to frozen giblets in seconds

    I think he'd be better off with an orb/x build since that allows for a bit more freedom, and it can still farm the usual suspects quickly.

    Added darklite_x to the list in the OP. Rius, I'll need your account name to do so.

    Advancing to Hell: 75+ if you're not getting a rush. 64 if you're getting a rush and want to level in the WSK straight away thereafter. 1+ if you're getting a rush and want to level in the Chaos Sanctuary until 65.

    If you've never had a sorceress before, frozen orb/meteor/fireball is pretty balanced. Also, sorceresses play somewhat differently from other characters - you have teleport. Use it to lure mobs apart or dodge incoming missiles during battle or line them up for an incoming meteor, not just to teleport to bosses.

    Meteor has a casting delay, so a Holy Freeze mercenary that can tank and keep the mobs in one place is advised. Nothing like Meph or Diablo chasing you around when you're trying to drop Meteors. Duriel's Shell is excellent at lvl 60-80 as it has a healthy dose of resistances and cannot be frozen mod. After that Shaftstop will do the job. Tal Rasha's mask will add 15 resistance, so it'll be close to max.

    I need my barbarian glitch rushed through nm, he's in act 5 but clearly can't get past ancients being only level...23. I ask for rushes all I time. I KNOW! I can totally return the favor if anyone asks when I'm around. Honest. Swear to God. Except Hell Rushing, cause I don't have a character that can do that yet. but maybe if I get my barb the IK chest and finish my set and level him..well maybe I could :P I dunno oh god rambling. *Dolosus. I will be in and out today waiting on the cable man to show upand hook up my internet so I can stop stealing the neighbors shitty ass disconnecting wireless :D

    Anyone with better runes than me want an eth-bugged 4-socket Kraken Shell? It's got over 1100 def, might be nice if you're putting a Fortitude on your merc or something.
