Mon Hun 3, where lances go in Barroths after breaking out his fertile mud.

Well for me with a great sword its just extra damage on the attack. So I still try and match the weapon to the target for the most part.

"Gotcha bit-awww dammit, I missed."
What have I become?

It's Khezu 2.0
IT HAS A BUTTMOUTH
A hunter. You no longer exist in this world. At least not for about 400 more hours.
And I don't think I would be able to control the camera with the d-pad. I'm one of those people who just constantly adjusts the camera. I don't want a claw.
My mind screams "NOOOOOO!" but my heart, my heart says "Yes."

1) Raw and Sharpness
2) Everything else
If you've got an elemental GS whose raw and sharpness are rougly equivilant to your non-elemental GS then by all means go for it, but generally speaking elemental GS have less power.
A good example of a GS that is good regardless of having an elemental is the Ancient Shard GS, which has white sharpness and just over 900 raw.
As another example, even if something is super weak to Fire, you are better off using say the Diablos Hornsword than the Rathalos Flamesword.
Handicraft (Sharpness +1)
Focus and Critical Draw (not sure which is more valuable)
Fencing (Mind's Eye aka ESP)
Attack (Attack Up +1, +2, +3)
Expert (Critical Eye +1, +2, +3)
Defensively, Razor Sharp is kind of useful because it halves sharpness loss on blocks, which is the main way you'll ever use up GS sharpness. And all the defensive skills that are good for non-blocking weapons are good: Evasion, Earplugs, etc.
I personally don't like to use blocking-specific skills with greatswords, since you want to sheathe them as much as possible anyway with Unsheathe Critical. I like to roll with Focus and Unsheathe Critical, and then whatever else I can tack on is gravy.
Focus is super nice, but I find that once I get used to having it, I'm all out of sorts when I'm forced to fight without it and get used to the charge timing again.
I've been playing it for 24 hours, and I can say that you get used to it. It's a matter of constantly making little adjustments, like when you're locked into a swing animation or sent sprawling by an attack. Beats the claw hands down. This method might not work as well for faster weapons like dual swords, though, since your animations don't have as many stationary frames.
I find my old PSO style coming back. If I move I hit L trigger and the camera is always behind me.

I would, but something's on the stove right now. I'd be happy to help you in 45 minutes, but by then you'll have all filled up the room and I'll be left all alone and sad.
I really wish that they had kept the room size of 10.
Will be on EU over the weekend a bit, char's name is Havelock...can't remember code atm.
I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Capcom made pig snuggling have an effect on drops after all the rumors about it in F2/Unite.
*Edit* Never mind on the % drop rates. Didn't realize that little sub-navigation thingy on the monster pages led somewhere.

Yeah, I'm really hoping they make a comeback in some form in the next Tri series game.
I'd pay for a DLC weapon pack. I'm dreaming though.

-> How much of an improvement over Freedom is Freedom Unite?
-> Is it maybe a little teensy bit less hard in single player with the new Felyne help, or will I need to make some new friends who want to play a game that's been out for a year on an unpopular platform?
-> How long are the load times? Is it worth it to get it digital to avoid those, or is it unnoticeable?
2) Single Player will still kick your ass, but not as much. The Felynes do help a bit, but the main thing is the huge amount of content.
3) Freedom Unite has a media install, which you'll have to do on either version anyway to speed up loadtimes, since the Download version is throttled to UMD speeds. Get the version you prefer. The media install greatly speeds up load times, depending on your memory stick.
I don't know what allegations of "unpopular platforms" you are making. Everyone I know has a PSP. And plenty of us are still playing Unite. You can find us on Ad-Hoc Party or X-Link Kai online, too.
-The Felyne companion's biggest draw is that it gives monsters another body to target, it is a pretty big deal not being the only thing targeted in single player. You can't do the single player quests with other players anyway, you can only do the gathering hall quests with them, where you can't take an NPC companion in any case.
-If you do the data install to a memory stick the load times are much better than Freedom 2.
Oh, and is it possible to snap other players in online mode out of sleep, paralysis, etc. like Cha-Cha can?
Yeah weapon sheathed you can kick them, not sheathed just give them a wack.

I like to have the fluffy mask on him, since it makes the initial part of the hunt much less frustrating.
Well, I've been trying out the False Felyne mask in my post- Ceadeus game, soo funny watching all those barrel bombs go flying :P
...only problem is he will not ever retreat to recuperate: He stays untill he's Ko'd and you have to wait the longer duration for him...
I got absorbed into SP too much
Will ease back now and take my time with that aspect. I want this thing to laaaasssstttt.
Will be on after work at 2GMT for some hunts.
