I have reason to believe if Despero went on, Spectre-X would probably make us listen to three and a half hours of why Despero would never lose to someone who took the entirety of the Avengers to defeat. Because the JLA/E are better.
Bcause Despero is more powerful than Loki, and also a super-genius, and not easy to trick or beat without either bullshit deus ex machina abilities, or a lot of really smart, really strong, really fast guys and girls.

Despero - I want to say Loki, because I'm such a Marvel shill, but Despero is just too strong. Asgardians (or Frost Giants) aren't immune to mental attacks (hell, Thor's been brainwashed by technology before) and this will give the purple nurple the opening he needs. Voting for one of DC's stupidly powerful characters goes against the grain, but next round Despero is going to be turned into an attractive coat for the mighty Ultron, so he'll get what's coming to him.

this is exactly the reason why im voting for Loki. Someone this powerful has no business being in the tournament. If it takes a worldwide effort from the Justice League or the use of powers seen once and then never again to beat you then fuck you right in the ear. Also, because I hate you spex.

Loki - Despero can get pretty long-winded and does some stupid stuff on occasion.
Loki - I gave a shit ton of reasons..but I really didn't see him sweeping this part of the tournament.
Common people, we can't even be sure of the version number of Ultron or state of mind, whereas Mandarin is Mandarin...all 100% evil badass.
I say Mandarin simply teleports Ultron out of bounds and into the heart of the Avengers Mansion, where he will then get rushed and beat up
..and thats if he is being nice.

Match 2: Loki - The only way the really top-shelf DC guys ever lose is through either magic, or trickery. Loki is a master of magic, and the fucking GOD of trickery. I mean, if Zatanna's magic works on Despero, Loki's magic should be able to make Despero shit his pants and cry like a girl. As long as Loki isn't stupid enough to try to brawl with Despero, he's going to win this.
2-Loki: Almost a coin-flip fight, but I'm giving the slim edge to Loki here. Also, for the record, I don't hate Spectre-X, and I kind of like his rants.
I think the rant-logic in that debate would rip a hole through space and time.
2. Despero--Imagine Loki and Despero sit down to a game of Super street fighter. Despero (being laaaame) immediately selects Akuma. Now, Loki's a waaaay better super street fighter player than Despero, so much so that he could probably beat him with...oh let's say Zangief, maybe Vega-even with the aformentioned Akuma selection.
but Despero's so serious, so focused on the game that Loki just cannot resist picking Dan. Loki wants to win the metagame. He wants to humiliate Despero and the best way to do that is to set up the fight in such a way that Despero has lost before he's even begun. Engaging in it is odious and makes him look like a tool.
So in round one Akuma demolishes Dan, since Akuma is designed to demolish and Dan to be demolished. In round two however, a miracle happens, Despero backs off just enough that the much more skilled Loki beats him (keeping in mind that loki could have easily won by taking the match seriously enough to pick a better matchup). In the third round though Loki decides that-for fun-he's only going to use Dan's fireball attack, the most laughable of all attacks. He even hits Despero once with it, and the crowd laughs a hearty laugh at big-pink-and-three-eyed. Needless to say Despero wins the match.
Despero will win this fight, but it won't make him happy. Loki will insure that by loosing, he smells like roses and Despero looks like a jackass.

Despero: Loki would be a more interesting contestant, but I simply think Despero will win. I'm not willing to cheese out and vote Loki to spite Spectre-X or because I think Despero is too powerful.
Despero is a grossly overpowered contestant. He could probably go toe-to-toe with a fully powered Juggernaut, and once he got bored he could rip his helmet off and fry Juggernaut's brain... that's obscenely powerful. Martian Manhunter could probably do the same, but he at least has the crippling weakness to fire. Still, Despero's in the competition.
