But they have something to prove here. That thing being "Our motion control tech is off the hook." That's motivation enough for a company to want to restrict things.
I'm not holding my breath, for the moment. If some developer busts something out though, I'll be happy to see it.
Where the fuck do you work or live that 95% of your workplace makes fun of you for being a gamer?
Give some examples of how they have made fun of you for being a gamer.
Except that you can't rotate 180 degrees while still walking forward, or while still being able to SEE the screen.

Okay. I don't mean this as an insult in any way, but are you sure the problem is them? I have very, very few 'gamer' friends and since high school (which is its own little subculture) I have never encountered any issues as a result of enjoying games. Obviously I'm not going to run into it in my workplace now, but even when I worked elsewhere, no one ever gave me shit for playing games.
It could be that the way you're coming across is affecting the way they treat you. Again, it's entirely possible you just ended up in an office staffed by assholes, but most people have no issue with people who enjoy games.
KINECTIMECHS
i want a fucking pet mech
This is absolute madness.
If people are making fun of you, it has more to do with how you yourself are carrying yourself and interacting with people.
Just like I'd make fun of someone who identified as a "jock" and cared about nothing other than sporting sport sports
You'll end up getting this:

"No, Phil, they hate you because you smell and are socially awkward."
I knew that escalator was too convenient.
Dude. There's no denying I'm quite outside of the broad definition of "mainstream". It's not something I strive for, it's just something that is.
I'm just using the "more mainstream people" moniker to describe just that. People less enclined to understand, or respect, what are usually percieved as "geeky" interests.
Motion control on your screen to build and design a mech.
Sign me up. That would be great.
whoa
a seventeen year old x-files reference
god damn
I am curious as to how old you are.
hahaha yessss
Nobody is really making fun of me, dude, we're in high school anymore. But they're still gonna express their negative opinions regarding my "geeky hobbies" when given the chance, without any malicious intent, of course.
You know?
Coworker : "Where were you, these last four days?"
Me : "In Boston."
Coworker : "What for?"
Me : "Oh, simply went to a con with friends."
Coworker : "what's a con?"
Me : *explains*
Coworker : "LOL! That's weird!"
That kind of stuff.
You have to play for 8 hours a day to make any progress.
you consider that a negative opinion
really

Mexican Crossing Kinect.
Quit being so sensitive.
No, no, talk about Kinect and all the awesome things that MS could do but maybe won't!
Or Move! Or or the 3DS.
It would be pretty hilarious if the people at Bioware gave each other shit about being into videogames.
Surprisingly on topic : vsove I have not seen much of Bioware at E3, what do you guys got for us?
Not really no, that's what I'm saying. Some people embrace that, other find it weird. Period. What I've been trying to say all along.
one more year ok!
And you care if people think what you do is weird?
TOR, as far as I'm aware. I'm not really sure what E3 holds for us, but that's the big one.
And I get more shit for being into hockey (completely joking, of course) than anyone who's into videogames. For, again, obvious reasons.
There are about eight of us on this floor who enjoy that most beautiful of sports.
WW1 Online
if you complete your trench on time, you get to choke to death on mustard gas (mime the choking actions using Kinect)
except it isn't
kiddo, backpedaling isn't where the brakes are on a mountain bike.
