okay... so then any successes add damage dice because they're DV0, right?

(also on my attack with 5 dice? rolled 3 ones and no successes. probability dislikes me today)

Well if you're awesome enough, you can probably add an extra die or two to that pool from stunting.

I didn't bother to check with Rain due to the massive dice pool I was working with, but for rolls that have a chance of failing and matter, it would probably be wise to maximize your pool.

Pluto, you're bad at the rules.

Defense Values are applied as External Penalties to the roll, meaning that they're subtracted from your successes. You always need at least one success to hit, so a roll of no successes is a miss under any circumstance, since it's also conveniently impossible to get a negative DV.

Yeah you got one. It rolled a 10.

As a rule, you guys can assume one stunt die on every action you make provided you take the time to describe it. I'll roll your extra dice for you as I see fit, but you can always add at least one.

Here's how resources and superior equipment works:

-For every dot in resources you have, you get one piece of superior equipment.
-Superior equipment comes in three grades - Fine, Exceptional, and Perfect.

    Fine Stuff

-Fine weapons grant +1 to either accuracy, damage, or defense, or you can give a bow +50 range or a throwing weapon +10 range; or can reduce the requirements by one.
    -Fine armor adds 1L/1B soak.
-Fine tools and gear add one die to a certain ability roll when used in a specific specialty.

Exceptional Stuff - costs 1 resource dot more

-Exceptional weapons get three +1's to divide among any of the characteristics fine weapons can improve and additionally can improve rate.
-Exceptional armor gets 2 bonuses it can apply to either add 1L/1B soak, reduce the mobility penalty by one, or reduce fatigue by one.
-Exceptional tools and gear add one die when used.

Perfect Equipment - costs 2 resource dots more

-Perfect Weapons get two +1's and one +2 to divide among any of the attributes exceptional weapons can improve.
-Perfect Armor automatically reduces both mobility and fatigue penalties by one, and recieves two +1 bonuses to split among buffing the characteristics that exceptional armor can improve.
-Perfect gear and tools add two dice when used.

Oh yes, thanks for putting that in.

Now, technically you get two pieces of superior equipment with your resources, but since I limited Gyler, you're limited as well. You can either take two pieces of Fine or a single piece of Perfect-grade equipment. Up to you, Shoe.

Perfect Armor - Reinforced Buff Jacket

It was a tribe's show of gratitude toward him, the wealthiest object of their village. They say it took a hundred hands to craft it.

    So...

that makes it +8b/4L mobility -1 fatigue 1

    after two points...

    +9B/5L, mobility 0, fatigue 1

I don't think that just because you're allowed take superior equipment means you automatically gain perfect stuff.

Perfect equipment costs two dots more than the baseline, so that piece of armor would cost 4 dots.

I'm totally cool with you having it if Rain's good with it because you deserve a sweet piece of armor until we find you an even cooler one.

I would, however, like notice if you're going to stop posting for a bit. I want to keep this game moving.

Ringo, how are you getting 15? The Dire Lance is only +2 acc, +3 after the Orichalcum bonus. Where's the last +2 from?

Also, are you wearing any sort of armor?

Ah... my Spears Specialty isn't in the first post. Did I even put it in the post on page 8? I'm betting not, because it's slightly hidden in the chargen program I dled. But that's where the extra +2 is coming from. My bad, but I listed it in the notes for my attack roll.

Speaking of which, glancing around the net, parry dv is half of dex+melee+spears specialty+weapon defense, correct? So, 5+5+2+3=15... round up or down on that?

Edit: Armor was black lamellar (you missed it staring at old spice guy!). I think I could afford Exceptional last time I looked at the resources thing. Exceptional armor, fine brushes, and a war horse (I'm on a horse).

K, this is stuff you need to put onto your character sheet. It's kind of important!

I'll reroll the damage, though. Lamellar is a lot better than Chain.

Rerolled the damage, it was a heinously good roll and did 5(again)

Uh, can he spend motes in defense after spending motes on an attack without a combo charm? Or did he combo?

And I'll work on getting my charsheet in better order tonight.

We both acted on tick 0, and I took a speed 5 action (Flame piece) while you took a speed 6 action. (Bows)

So I get to go on tick 5, while you're on tick six.

Dragon-Blooded can use Reflexive charms without using a combo. It's sexy.

Shoe, the Current Tick is 5, not 0. Sorry!
