Yeah, Ross is the only person who depicts Superman as a burly 40-year old.
I prefer the more slender and handsome look of Christopher Reeve, which was reflected in Gary Frank's rendition of the character. I don't think there is a definitive look for Superman, though.
I actually really like Stuart Immonen's Superman. He just looks so clean and friendly. Leinil Yu's is really good too, though the way he draws eyes detracted somewhat.
Frank Quitely does one of the best Clark Kent/Superman contrasts though.

I've always liked Mahnke's Superman/Clark Kent.
Superman parts his hair on the side, nice clean spit curl even when fighting things that are made to destroy the universe.
Clark Kent parts his hair in the middle, and has glasses with frames that make him look like a he's either a country boy trying to make it in the big city wearing the styles of 10 years ago, or a yuppie beta male. It works.
I think Yu did the same thing with the hair styles in Birthright,, except Clark was more ruffled hair, which was the style at the time.
Bruce Wayne/Batman though, don't really know what would be definitive. I actually like McDaniel's take on Bruce, how when he talks to crowds and people not in the league he's nice, but the next panel he's all grimacy grim (what comes to mind is the Green Arrow OYL where Bruce shows up to announce Wayne Industries helping to rebuild Star City, nice to the crowd frowny face to Ollie). And McDaniel's Matches Malone is the best, total sleeze.
Jim Aparo has the Batman aspect down pat, but Bruce Wayne? Not really.

Nice news, Ardian Syaf is new Birds of Prey artist with BoP #7.
His art is looking good in those preview pages, really has a Patrick Zircher thing going. I like his art, kind of wish he was still on GLC than Tyler Kirkham's flat style, since that would give him more exposure than BoP would.
I would say that Batman TAS defined the Bruce/Batman dynamic for me, but I think over the last five years, it's been Matt Wagner's Batman that has taken precedent in how I define my "baseline" Batman look.
The first two issues of Morrison's recent Batman run are up on the digital comic services. I was considering getting the trades but now I'll just have them on my PSP.
I'll probably get RIP in trade format though since it's pretty cheap.

Why doesn't Bruce just buy crime alley (the buildings around it) and put up something nice there like affordable housing or somesuch? Just leaving it as it was so you can lay some roses and the crime scene every year, that's not seeing the big picture.

I always loved in the Justice League series when Wonder Woman says that there can be no dating for the Batman, as it cuts in on his brooding time. I love jokes at Batman's expense.

Crime Alley is a historical landmark.

This really sounds like something Batman Inc. might touch on. To me, at least.
Same creative team as the mini, so that's got to bum people out.

he loves the character, and as much as I love Batgirl i'd rather see him on Beyond

Would you be willing to let him write it too?
He's one of their best talents at DC, and if Tony Daniel can write Batman surely Nguyen could get a shot on a lower tier book.

sure if he wanted to
also Red Hood: The Lost Days continues to be awesome but it makes Jason's age even more confusing
He was early teens when he died/got resurrected, and he looks like late teens in this series but then he looks like he's in his mid-to-late twenties in his current appearances
also Red Hood: The Lost Days continues to be awesome
wait
what
yeah it's great
it's just jason todd being a dick/badass
Is it really? I picked up the first issue hoping for just that and wound up disappointed. If it picked up, I'm open to back issues.

So the next Return of Bruce Wayne book has the possibility that it will be Night Watch, but with Batman.

Is anyone planning on getting all 4 Road Home one-shots that come out tomorrow? Or just the Batman and Robin one, then the others the following week if buzz is good?
I'm also wondering if this will spoil not only B&R but Return of Bruce Wayne as well.

I'm not picking up any until B&R 16 comes out. Though none really seems to grab me.
I'm surprised no one here has talked about RoBW5 yet. I won't get my copy till Saturday or Monday in the mail, but I really briefly glanced at the annotations just to give myself a very vague idea of what goes on (I really only glanced at a couple sentences; I still am almost totally in the dark about it).
Edit: Also, I hope they do some significant touch-ups on RoBW 4 in the collected edition.

Is RoBW5 out? I didn't see it at my shop this week.
I'd like to talk about RoBW5, but I feel like I need to wait for all of RoBW to come out, and then take a weekend to do nothing but read all of Morrison's Batman back to back, and only then will I get all of RoBW. I don't remember what happened towards the beginning of the run - hell, I don't remember all the retails of R.I.P. - and I feel like I am missing subtle plot points.

Wasn't there a B:TAS episode where the villain's plan was exactly that?

I was in literally in class (before we had to work) and checked this out, and then I made an audible sigh
Damn Finch, just place "x"s where you want the inker to make it all black, no wonder you're so slow.
Paquette's artwork looks really good in B&W.
