Seriously, go check out some aircraft aficionado forums. Post in the title F-22 vs. F-35. Shit will go down.

Pages upon pages of minute advantages one has over the other. Most common you'll generally hear is the tighter turns on the F-22. I can't remember half of what the F-35 has over the F-22 because of so much stuff on it.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Navy to buy the kind that is supposed to be launched off aircraft carriers?
On account of how those are boats and all.
I guess they are also getting the STOVL variant? I don't think they are making a VTOL version.

It'll be pretty cool to see some of those woosh by on Canada Day.

Are they really quiet? I always thought stealth planes were really hard to hear from the ground.

One superbowl or something they were like, not look at this B2 stealth bomber overhead, and usually flybys at sporting events are all "kkkkkkkhhhhhhhhhggghhhhhhhooooOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh...."

but this was like "........" just flyin there....

The STOVL is a Harrier replacement, so US Marines and the Royal Navy/AF; the carrier variant is for the US Navy

They haven't indicated that they're going to make a VTOL version of it. Last I heard it'll be STVOL, CTOL, and carrier version. I figure they've spent enough money on the things, I doubt they're wanting to make a fourth version.

Man I hated dress whites. Dress blues on the other hand, those were pretty OK (but a shitton of buttons!)

See I was just remarking on how the F-22 was basically an unreliable money pit, which caused its halt in productions around the time Obama stepped into office, and that the F-35 (reading about people's thoughts on it from various government/military positions) will continue a trend in military projects that are unreliable money pits. Not what armchair fighter pilots have to say.

See also: the Army's numerous attempts at developing a replacement for the M-16 - hint it still hasn't happened, aside for units associated with SOCOM that are going to get the SCAR rifle (I think).

True story: During the early (at least) segments of the Afghan and Iraqi wars UK troops in the field would ditch their supposedly "advanced" SA-80 rifles for AK-47's discarded by whatever insurgent groups they were fighting at the time. That's how shitty the gears and parts of their rifle were (are).

Shoulda stuck with their FAL variants.

The m-16 also has a similar history of shitty performance since it was introduced, and the only reason the US didn't develop their own ak-47 knockoff, or just use the belgian FAL like every other NATO country, is because AMERICA.
