Cubs need to stop getting in the way of broken bats.

What the Marlins really needed was a manager who is older than the infield combined.

Dear local sports writer who thought it would be a great idea for the Pirates to move to the AL Central,

Do you really want this to happen every series? Do you really want the Pirates to win less than 50 games every year? Do you? DO YOU REALLY? BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN YOU STUPID PIECE OF--...ahem.

    Sincerely, me.

Between him and Hamels that game took two hours and twenty minutes. Lemme tell you, this Phils team and their short games has done wonders for my viewing habits. I just can't take a three or three and a half hour game but two and a half? Sure.

I really enjoy efficient games, they are just a little more intense when opposing pitchers are doing really well.

Side note: I just started watching the Ken Burns Baseball documentary on Netflix and wow I am learning so much.

I'm loving the M's this year, but I'll get really excited if they can be .5 back after the All-Star break. Wedgie has said he wants to compete this year and hopefully the front office heard that too. If they can get a few more bats before the deadline, who knows. Who the fuck knows.

Look at me, a Mariners fan talking about baseball.

They have a travel day today and I miss them already.

Cubs/Yankees was pretty fun last night, though once it got to 7-4 I had to call it because I had work in the morning and I live three hours away from Chicago. There were a lot of drunk and belligerent Yankee fans there, which was kind of fun when the Cubs were winning, not so much when they Yankees came back.

At least five of the regulars at the bar today said they were disappointed that the Mariners weren't playing today.

This season is kind of awesome already.

    The Orioles won AGAIN!

This has been the Orioles MO all year, look like everything is falling apart for a series +, immediately follow that up with a string of three to five wins where you look like a competent collection of major league ball players then begin sucking again.

It doesn't matter because the Sox look like they are going to win 120 games this year so yeah. Once again I look at the AL West a weep. A's are 7 games under .500 and yet only 5 games out. Orioles are 4 games under .500 and 10 games out.

cardinal's bullpen is pretty bad (do all of them have their incredibly shitty beards)

saw the cubs/white sox go into a rain delay, it was pretty hilarious how nobody at US Cellular field seemed to know how to unfurl the tarp

I really hope Vogelsong throws a good game today.

Not only because we've been awful over the last week but I hope the dude can keep it up and get himself in the All-Star Game.
